​@@carter.coleman Halfway for temperatures above 32 degrees F and fully pressed when below 32 degrees F. If it's a nice sunny day you shouldn't need to at all.

make sure you unplug your glow plug solenoid wire before using ether. I blew the tips off my glowplugs after forgetting one time

If it's crappy ether, I have to spray the hell out of it if it's that cold it doesn't do it any good. If I plug it in over night it will start right up.

That trucks looks like a fine candidate for a resto looks like it just needs floors buddy. Could even just tac up the ol license plates in there and boom your good.

The truck itself was seriously effed up. Ended up pulling the engine out of the rest of the truck and it got stolen that all that went to shit. I got a 95 Dodge now that I plan to trade for another 70s or 80s Ford or Dodge and another 6.9 engine to throw in it.

How long did it usually take to start on freezing cold mornings? Did it take longer when it hadn't been used for several days? Would it usually start without ether?

Nahh the glow plugs hadn’t been changed in 10 years so it needed ether when I left work early in the morning. When I plugged the block heater in it started pretty easy though. Got down to about -3 before I needed ether with the block heater but without it, it needed ether anytime it got below 32 F
