Some very nice boat handling by that woman. Nice, easy, unrushed maneuvers with lots of precision. The mark of an experienced operator.

Beautiful boat. We have a 1986 242LS. Great big water boat. We boat in Lake Huron And if you have never had a 24 deg. Hull in big waves you are missing out. Keep it going,

We took this boat to Florida in 2016 for 2 weeks Destin for one week and Treasurer Island for one week. Awesome vacation on the water!! For a 27’ boat it handles waves very well!!! We mostly boat on Lake of the Ozarks and it’s rough but it’s like a washing machine rough! Lots of huge boats on a narrow lake keeps it pretty churned up!! Thanks for the beautiful boat comment!!

It’s nice to see a well maintained boat operated by some who cares. It hurts to see an obvious well cared for boat, bought by someone who has no clue, at a boat ramp, rev it up in forward gear, smash into the dock,then into reverse and hit another boat, brush it off like nothing happened, then leave, leaving a wake in a no-wake area. Watching this, was relaxing.

I will be honest, I am not really a fan of the look of boats of this vintage. But in this case, I will make an exception. Really clean, really nice. Well done.

I've never seen a boat back out of a slip so slow and not go sideways against the dock, must not be an ounce of wind. lol
@mikefrandle24076 ай бұрын
Ya no wind at all back in that cove. She definitely takes to heart don’t go any faster than you want to hit it! Lol

So what's the story? Any history with you or family or a restore or purchase? Just curious great looking boat.

No personal history with this boat. I saw these and other larger Formula boats in the 80’s when I lived in Florida and loved them. Found this boat in 2012 bought it and started fixing things! I spent more time and money than what it’s worth before I knew it!!! Lol Just one of those projects you really enjoy! Absolutely love older offshore boats!!

Stock would be 454, 310 hp. this one definitely been re cammed. I saw a new 87 with twin small blocks, 270 hp each. I ended up w 87 242LS and had the 454 magnum new and had for many years. These boats handle great w 24 degree hull, sweet. I had mine lk. Champlain in vt. The 242 did not take well to added power.

I was thinking the 1984 272 LS only came with 350’s an alpa drives both drives were right hand rotation which sucked at higher speeds. We just finished rebuilding the 350’s to 383 strokers with 400hp
@rtm365bnc7 ай бұрын
Sounds like a big block to me. They came w 454’s as well. Also didn’t sound like twins. I sold formula for a 38 Fountain 38 Fever, twin magnums. Single vs twins. Great boats. I was told twins were heavy in stern how’s yours? My 242 was right around 60 mph, whats yours?
@mikefrandle24077 ай бұрын
Ours with the new 383 strokers will do 70mph 4 blade 22.5 pitch rev4 props 4700rpm
@mikefrandle24077 ай бұрын
There were no 272LS models that had a big block they only were offered in 1984 with twin small blocks 350’s with 260hp and right hand rotation alpha drives. In later model years they came with big blocks and bravo drives.
