Looks like the goal for this design was to keep it small and put as many features as possible in it. They accomplish that without cutting back on quality. It would make a nice timer for recording meetings. Just set it up in a conference room at the time the meeting starts. Very handy unit for sure.

What I always found interesting in this and other GE's from that era is their inclusion of the extended AM band: 1983 was several years before the band started being used, with most extended band stations coming on the air in the mid 1990s. GE was always thinking ahead. I have several Great Awakening series clock radios, the only one that does extended AM like your 6025A is a 7-4875 aka "The Small Wonder" and mine has a date code of 1984. Love your GE collection, thought I was the only one who obsessed over these!

I have the 3-6035 and I can attest it's a powerful box. That 3-6025A is pretty nice for its size. I also have a GE personal syereo(walkman type) that has the ETS tuning system.

That's a beauty !! Btw...I live near you! I have a GE clock radio with cassette recorder and it still works perfectly. They made quality stuff.

Oh man. The memories! My wife gave me one of these as a Christmas present back in the '80s. I recorded soooo many 80's pop tunes on it from our local FM top 40 station. Let me know if you're even interested in selling it.

I was just thinking about this style of mini-boombox when i was looking at my 1990s Sanyo I've been using casually lately. The rounder '90s ones are good for putting in spaces to have a decent deck while looking for the correct '80s boxybox.

Wow, this GE is impressive! From the features, to the sound. I had to break out the headphones for the demonstration.

You didn't mention the OEM, but i caught a glimpse of the FCC ID. Funai.

Correct. ADT is Funai, but this model is unique to GE, Just like the 3-6035. The B versions were made by GE themselves.

How many songs sampled that "YEAH! WOO!" cycle back in the day?

I suspect the wireless microphones were wiping out most of the AM band. Growing up with these early digital boomboxes in my teens, when we would be camping, in tree forts, or even just in a bedroom, it was disappointing as good as many of these were for features, they would forget to include a push button operated light for the display, to see the frequency (or time) in the dark.

Do you know what kind of power cord this takes? I found this at a thrift store, but no cord and it's difficult to find online. I imagine there is a single type that GE made to fit a multitude of models.

Does anyone know where I can find one of these if there are any for sale? I had one of these in the late-1980s into the mid-1990s. I’d like to find one for old times sake.

Despite the size, this GE boombox seems to be doing well with good stereo sound and fidelity. I absolutely DESPISE the copyright police. I was watching one of your earlier videos (discovered your channel around 2009, been watching since about 2010), you even had to reverse the video because of the copyright police, even in the golden age of KZbin, the copyright police seemed to still be a problem. I will say though, you can use some of the music from the Seeburg music library from the 60’s and 70’s since Seeburg went out of business in the early 80’s and since they haven’t existed in over 40 years, no one can really claim copyright on the Seeburg background music records. Just thought I’d mention that if you wanted to have a work around from the copyright police.
