Yeah, that pretty much describes this. It really needed a looser converter and lower gears. Above 3k, it would break em loose and pull you back in the seat, but had zero bottom end.

omg that top is in much better condition than mine. i took the material off another that was in a scrapyard(it hurt me to see it there, but i saved some things from it too) and i at least have a template. i just need someone to put the new one together for me from the template. also, with a bit of research thanks to a part list you made in another video, i now have a tentative parts list to get my baby up and running again. she's got a toasted trans and im sad she doesnt run. she's the most comfy car ive ever owned and ill never sell her.

Headers were for the f body (volare/aspen), computer went in the trash and was replaced by a junk yard ignition module (which is why it didn’t start right up-plug was bad) Edelbrock performer intake, edelbrock 600 cfm carb

And did you have to do some work to get the Accelerator Cable/Bracket and stuff to lign up ? I heard there were some issues. Maybe a certain performer model?

@@DADSGETNDOWN the f body (aspen/volare) and the m body (diplomat/gran fury/Lebanon-fif ave+others) are the same chassis. Like all mopars, they hang low

One thing you need to watch out for is ground clearance. The factory bars are so soft on these cars the suspension will bottom out and the driver's header will contact the ground. Nice car by the way; I love the two-tone paint. Probably my favorite color scheme right there.

If you remove the center piece between the lights like you did, is there plate screw holes already there? And how does that piece come out?

+Terrence Gold It's just four screws and that blank comes out from between the tail lights. Holes should already be there to accommodate the license plate.

No, it had a bad connection at the ignition module. The connector was bad

Michael Ciccone: I believe these cars had a troublesome Carter carburetor and that's why it's so necessary to pump the gas pedal when the engine is cold.

@@michaelciccone2194 My Dad had a 1958 Cadillac Sedan De Ville that has a Carter AFB 4 barrel carburetor and you sure had to pump the heck out of the gas pedal when it was cold on a cold engine especially when the engine would stall you'd have to pump the heck out of the gas pedal to get the car re-started. This also had to be done with Chryslers of that year with that make of carberator the same situation.
