1984 Porsche 944 N/A Pt#12 - Fuel Pump Removal and Install

I need to upgrade my fuel pump to a 3 bar pump, I am running 16 pounds of boost and it goes flat around 5200 rpm. I am going to upgrade the injectors at the same time and install a wideband O2 sensor. Thanks!!

that was a really handy video and one of the few showing refitting the fuel pump bracket on an early 944/924S. I had taken photos, but just could not work out the orientation and it would seem far more logical for the bracket to go the other way around and the fuel pump to sit in a cradle, rather the in effect 'hang' from the bracket (I guess this allows water to run away). Are you getting fuel to the pump? Have you seen if your fuel strainer is clogged by chance. Just throwing some things out there

Did you buy the Bosch 069 or 042?

Neither. I bought some cheap ebay knock off to see if it works. Will start replacing with OEM once I know she will run and drive

I purchased some cheap no-name pump off eBay just for testing purposes.

Yeah it's been working out pretty good so far all the parts I'm putting on are mainly for testing so I can get her up and running.

Just looked at the service manual and the fuel pressure should be 2.5 bars or 36.26psi when the car is off and 2 bars or 29psi when the car is idling. Hope that helps
