I Had a 1975 VW Rabbit 4 Door Automatic Back in Late 1983 and 1984, Had Lots of Fun & Good Memories With it. Problems with the Starter Some Times.

My first car was a silver 1984 Wolfsburg edition and it was auto, there really rare, I read somewhere that there were only 800 made. ,y interior was blue also

The 1983 and 1984 models are the best Rabbits built in the Westmoreland factory in Pennsylvania. Volkswagen of America tried to Americanize the Rabbit and give it softer suspension and a bland interior, but when Carl Hahn took over Volkswagen AG in 1982, he put Noel Phillips and Jim Fuller in charge at VWoA and they ordered immediate changes to the Rabbit for the 1983 model year - stiffer shocks and nicer seats, though the Detroit-style square headlights remained. Also important - 1983 was the year the GTI was introduced to America.
