Great work Adam. Wonderful to get these old girls running again. Brought my first FJ brand new in 84 and absolutely loved it. I was actually in the dealer to test ride an FZ750 but it was out at the time so he said take this while your waiting. I fell in love straight away

I had a brand new FJ1100 in 1984. Absolutely loved it. The sound, the power and just the way it looked. Amazing today but it was mind blowing back in the 80's. Only trouble was a defective shift fork - hard to get into 2nd and then it would pop out under hard acceleration. Nice to see it coming back to life.

It is a great bike, i can imagine how it must have felt back in the day in comparison, i get a bit fedup with it sometimes when ive been out, riding in traffic and just not being able to get on and then on the odd occasion i'm out late coming home and theres nothing on the road it just floats along and the power shows itself even more it puts a massive grin on my face😀

I watched the start of this vid and wondered where it was going!. Anyway mine's the same FJ1100 1984 or 5. Because of an accident I've not touched mine for 3 years. I'll put in some fresh fuel, check the tank, new battery and fuel it from a plastic container. Before it was left, 3 years ago I simply wanted to smarten it up. It ran perfectly. I went out in the car to get some beers, stopped the car on a hill. Normal. Checked my mail and saw the car was moving!. Ran to the front, opened the driver's door, tried to control steering and don't remember anything except waking up in a helicopter. Guy said "you're alive! good!". Came around in intensive care knowing nothing. Hips crushed. Etc etc. 3 months in hospital. Now the bike, 3 years later is as it was. Should I try turning the engine by hand first?. Spray something in the plug holes?. Then turn it over by hand? Or just try to start it?. Thank you for this, it's perfect. Tony FJ 1100 84.
@sub9sec2 жыл бұрын
I'm sorry to hear that Tony, must have been a very tough few years for you, glad to hear your getting the bike moving!! Well yes turning it over first is a smart idea just to make sure it hasnt got a bit of sticking going on, although i doubt it has, crank it by hand off the crank nut, or get it in top gear and rock back and forth, can do this with the plugs in or out, out is easier and wouldnt hurt to change them anyway! Nice fresh battery hooked up and fresh fuel she'll go🙂 If it being stubborn a couple blasts of something flammable up the airbox will help, open the throttle a touch at the same time to actualy let it in the cylinders. Hope it works out for your, Thanks for watching my video👍

Hey Adam nice job trying to do the same to my fj1100 1985 can you please tell me where did you spray that starting fluid thank you
@sub9sec2 жыл бұрын
Ah yes, just behind the right hand side pannel therrs the airbox inlet, spray it in there and create a bit of a mist in the airbox for a few seconds and then open the throttle to allow the carbs to suck it in, it will run on the vapour for second or so, hopefully it will help draw fuel up out the carb bowls, if it doesnt continue to run after a few tries like that then your not getting fuel through the carbs, Thanks for watching
