Awesome video. I'm looking for a manual Square Body Suburban with barn doors. I almost bought a tailgate Suburban thinking I could convert it easily, but after watching this I'm just going to be patient...

# 3 Suburbans under my belt...all three were tailgates. Yes they are heavy as $%$. Yes, if you are of short of stature it's hard to reach the internal grab handle, and yes the window motor is problematic... But, I just prefer the way the tailgate looks over the barndoors. And being able to roll the window down with the press of a button as you roll down the highway: Priceless

Great work , I just bought a suburban but the barn doors are rusted bad at the bottoms and I’m not sure if I want to try and weld them or just get donor doors but besides that a little rust on the bottom rockers and the truck is really solid, I’d love to do the 6bt swap you did but I’ll wait until I run out of stuff to fix first

Love this... I have tailgate on my 87 and I hate it. I wish I would have bought one with barn doors because I definitely don't have your skill/expertise to pull this off!

Id love more info about how you bent your hinges. I recently purchased a 88 Suburban and had to put a weather seal on the doors. When i went to shut them after they no longer lined up. not sure whats going on and try as i might i cant line up the doors properly
