How to Make Square body Suburban Barn Doors Open From The Inside

Brilliant. This is a good idea anyway as those locks are prone to fail . You can get the carpet trim off to get to the small access door from the inside to unlock the door but this is much easier 👍

I'm excited to try this! I don't have trim on my barn doors so I just reach my hand up in the hole and yank down to pop it opened from the inside. I've been thinking about hooking something like a chunk of rope tied to the part so I have something easier to pull down on. I tried a tiny sized bungee cord, and that worked great for opening the door. , But the bungee cord kept coming off and I didn't like that it stretched so much before it would finally pop the door open. I have a 1993 Chevy Suburban that is my full time camping vehicle.

I'm actually planning on doing something similar to my 1999 GMC Suburban. I scored 99% of my stuff from a junkyard. It will hopefully be done by spring camping season. I appreciate the video.
