Super clean truck. The turbo and door panels are really slick. Didn’t catch why you are selling, but you are going to make someone real happy. You definitely put in a ton of work into that truck.

Thanks for the kind words. It was a ton of work, but quite fun.

I don’t feel comfortable posting it publicly $. I spent well over a year on this truck, it was fun. I have a few more things I’m working on!!

I am very interested in your turbo set up...I just reworked a hx35w for my 12v but one the fence between vgt or twins I tow alot. Overall awesome truck man looks clean asf.
@erwin6433 жыл бұрын
BTW, I'm more into fuel economy than horsepower (which tends to go along for the ride literally, anyway). I still have the original Holstet turbo on my 12-valve. I upgraded my intercooler pipe and intake horn from 2.5" to 3", along with a Diamond Eye 4" exhaust, but am not touching the governor, or any part of the old mechanical fuel system. Would getting the HX35 improve my mileage?
@jamesnm21 Жыл бұрын
@@erwin643 why not have both? I barely made it up a steep, narrow road the other day with a heavy trailer backing up traffic and scaring myself in the process. It's definitely time for more power.

i like what you done with the interior, im assuming you had to do a little bit of modifications/fabrication to fit them in?
@hibbcase Жыл бұрын
Yes the seats were definitely one of the better upgrades. It took a little bit of figuring out to mount them, but we’ll worth it in my opinion.

Wait a second: 1985? I hear a 12-Valve Cummins in the background. I thought the Cummins engine didn't appear until 1989 in Dodge trucks!!! Also, how did you move the climate control module in your dash? Aren't there a bunch of mechanical levers attaching it to other areas behind there?
@hibbcase3 жыл бұрын
Yes it is a 12 valve, this truck came with a 360 v8. It actually wasn’t that bad to move the heater controls. None of the mechanical cables had to be modified, I just had to build some mounting brackets and a trim plate to make it look nice where the radio was. There isn’t very much depth for the new radio location, I was able to find a shallow mount double din radio that worked great.
@erwin6433 жыл бұрын
@@hibbcase Cool! Thanks for the reply. You obviously have some awesome fabrication skills. BTW, how did you manage to adapt they seat assembly from a 2010 Dodge to your '85? I Installed a suck pair of Qualitex-brand seats (If no one ever heard of them, it's probably due in part to Amazon refusing to carry their product anymore). Their seats are OK, but their center consoles are the worst ever (i.e., non-functioning cup holders, very cheap plastic. I don't think anything worse ever even came out of China!). I think next time I do a seat install (likely my little 1995 Nissan PU) I'll go with Corbou seats (hope I spelled that correctly). Wish I knew about them years ago.
@hibbcase3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the interest, the nice new seats made a huge difference in this old truck. I built some brackets and welded them in the cab floor so I didn’t have to modify the seats/brackets. Super strong and not too difficult.

You’re right, the comfortable heated seats, Bluetooth touchscreen backup camera radio, more than one speaker, carpet, headliner, door panels, power windows, power locks, and all that crappy sound deadening completely ruined this truck…

@@hibbcase funny, I was just going to comment this is one of the cleanest, nicest 1st gen interiors I've seen. Very well done. Hope mine turns out this nice. I'm debating about covering the top of the dash in some kind of padded vinyl and some custom trim. Seeing how clean you got the gauges and switches gives me some ideas for dash upgrades as well.
