Though I never seen it in reality this ad is amazing and deserving. Sorry to mention cz I was born In the late 90's but these ads deserves more attention compared to the ads which are made at present Wish these products could've been back even in these days.

Old generation me i believe sabi tv wale sirf english bolte the thats why most of ads are in british english ..
@karankaul6794 жыл бұрын
It was done to create a language class. Upper class (English) and lower class ( regional language). The main target group is actually the regional class, even though the Ad is in English. How? Aspiration. English log gold spot peete hain, isliye hum bhi peeyenge. Sach hai ki English log goldspot nahin peete. Just like jab Bollywood log OPPO phone YA Lux Sabun ka add karte hain. They don't use those products. Those are for middle class India.
@sulaganabiswas4 жыл бұрын
Tv was expensive. Mostly elites had it. So ads were designed for elites. Esp ads of cold drinks, chocolates, coffee...upmarket products, not chawal dal. But the jingles had quality. Of course you had dalda and nirma ads that were in hindi, and very well made.
@sulaganabiswas4 жыл бұрын

1)Also since whole generations grew up under british rule. Which heavily drilled that "english" is elite. After independence alot of people from that generation who still believed in that went to different jobs and that reflected in their work. 2) Besides the english crazy was still going strong in society especially in upper class. I think its only in late 80s Indian vs english started and in 90s it took full force. There r so many movies from that period that had plot like "city vs village", "NRI vs Indian". Eg: Raja Hindustani, so many Govinda movies. 🤔
