So it seems that by July 1985 during the filming of Captain EO, the transformation of his complexion & look to his Bad look/era was official. The 1st half of 1985 you can still remnants of MJ's look during the Thriller era. Because I was born in 88, I always wondered what year did his skin make that official switch from Brown to olive yellow tone.

If you really look at his face during that time, his cheeks and chin, (lower part of his face) are now a lightbrown, whilst the upper part of his face (forehead, nose, eye area) are still meduim brown(his orginal color) ppl say the vitiligo spread that time, but idk. Usually when someone bleaches their face, you can easily tell. The result is always a lighter pinksh tone, (could be his lupus tho)

Imagine just coming off of releasing the biggest selling album of all time and the media still finds a way to discredit you. Imagine owning half of Sony Music as a black man in a white industry becoming the most powerful man in music (even more than Paul McCartney an ex beatle) and yet the media criticized your billion dollar catalogue. All these years I honestly thought MJ went away after Thriller and re-emerged looking the way he did in BAD when in actual fact, seeing the footage now he pretty much started to change from mid 1984.. I'd say the We Are The World video is the first noticeable change in his complexion and face after Thriller and during the Victory tour his face pretty much started to look like he did in BAD with short hair. By 1985 through 86 when Captain EO was released he had pretty much fully transitioned to how he would remain until mid 1991

God I wish I could've really lived to see Michael Mania, especially when Bad was huge and he was winning every Grammy and releasing several consecutive Number 1 singles. I was barely alive by the time the Bad tour ended in 1989. Since Whitney Houston basically became the Female Michael, and had a bunch of Number 1 hits at the same time, I bet people were like "Who's going to be number 1 this week? Michael or Whitney?" I never knew they were a couple at one point! That's kind of awesome. Both of them were the BIGGEST pop stars of the late 80s and early 90s. Kind of unfortunate that Whitney was still sort of unknown by the time We Are the World came out, just a couple weeks before her first album was released, I bet Mike would've definitely included her in WAtW.
