Let the oil get to the top of the motor (few seconds/15 seconds) and you’re good unless it’s cold. I always let mine warm minimum 30 seconds

At idle the oil pump is not making as much pressure. I was told better to drive it to warm it up but not hard.

I too am in the Bay Area and agree with you regarding the traffic conditions in it. I’d love to see this 928 sometime. My grandmother has a 1988 928 S4 5 speed manual with under 90,000 miles.

I can’t speak for the 911s, but for the transaxle cars, the reasoning for not letting the car idle for extended periods of time is due to the fact that the Cam belt and the Balance belts on the 944s are under the most stress during idle. So letting a car warm up basically just adds extra wear onto the belts. Unless I leave my car outside and it’s freezing, I do practice the same procedure during the winter. I drive it right away just keep the revs low until the temps come up.

These videos are what I like. I was very surprised how modern the dash looks. I am starting to love the 928. I have a bmw 635csi in Seattle, and traffic has made fun driving almost impossible. I assume you use a GoPro. I love the commentary. Please keep it up.
