you can see RQ lose momentum from the first bump, if he hadnt got that he would have sailed past. right decision.

Rainbow Quest momentarily got his head in front only for Sagace to regain the lead at the line, really does seem wrong disqualifying the horse.

Harsh reversal of placings in my opinion. In the UK the result would certainly of stood with perhaps a suspension of some kind for the jockey of Sagace. I don't think Pat Eddery stopped riding at all during the last furlong.

It would have stood in the UK by today's standards because it's almost impossible to get thrown out regardless.

Rainbow quest would have won,got bumped twice when in full flow and challenging,correct outcome in my opinion.

A truly great battle. A dead heat would have been fair. Rainbow Quest appeared to be going past him 100 out. But then Sagace fought back, while he bumped Rainbow Quest, did it impact the result?

I was under the impression that Sagace got disqualified for leaning on the other horses causing a ripple effect around the bend that leads into the straight, i maybe wrong but I've always believed that to be the case after all these years
