A body Shell deserted from UK mated with a ageing Old Standard Vanguard Engine resulted a Tired and very Thirsty highly Overpriced Car with a ahead of its time cosmetic technologies....Eventually went out of Race in 1988. This particular car must be immediately rescued and send for restoration. Only a Passionate Person would dare to bring her to the past glory. Only she needs a 2000CC DSZ ISUZU Engine with ISUZU 5 Speed Gear box and a Sports Red Paint Job.

So sad 😢 that Standard 2000 disappeared from India like Windows 2000 disappeared from the existence in India. Standard 2000 was there in 1970s in the UK but was beaten by the then new edge cars by Japanese, Germans, and Italians -- for example Honda Accord, BMW 5-series, and Lancia/Alfa Romeo cars. Out of every UK car makers, a few survived, and the remaining including Rover have disappeared.

This beauty was way ahead of it's time. The bad engine and gearbox the Indian partner put were simply 'crap'. I recently bought one in not so ok condition. Only to find another that an all original car was available. Guess what?? I bought that too. Will share pics once done.
