I like the English springers but most were designed with the UK 12ft/lb legal limit in mind. Currently there are not many Britisch made springers (Webley is Hatsan, BSA is Gamo) only Airarms has some great ones but they are too expensive compared the HW's.
@airgunsofalaskaКүн бұрын
@@buijs1967 I’ve not chronied this Webley yet. I don’t k ow when they had a 12ft/lb limit? Did it exist in the 80’s? I’d guess since this one was imported into the USA it wouldn’t have had to comply with a UK spec, especially with how performance oriented Beeman seemed to be. It’s sad how England lost their domestic airgun industry just like we have in the USA.
@elginsparrowhawk7203Күн бұрын
@I could be wrong but since the gun laws of the 1960’s(66?) the UK had the sub 12 limit.Export models were meant to be more than 12ft/lbs .There’s a story of when the machinery had bedded in at the factory, Webley had to fit a weaker spring to comply with the UK limit ( mk 2 Vulcan). Power in spring air rifles isn’t always advantageous.

I purchased a Webley Hawk pellet rifle from Beeman in 1978---with use the barrel started bending from cocking I never "over-cocked" it. I could bend the barrel back, however when cocking again it woudl eventually bend again. I sent it back--they gave me a refund. I bought a Feienwerkenbau124 from them which I used very often..having replaced two pistol seals and two springs. Many a varmint were dispatched with that 124.

@@Starman2440 That’s pretty crazy! Fortunately the cocking effort on this gun is very light. I saw in the old Beenman catalog this gun has a lifetime warranty I believe. It’d be kinda funny to see if they’d actually honor it almost 40 years later.

Great gun... I do not own one, but have a Beeman C1 and Bearcub both in .22 and they have taken out more raccoons than all of my other airguns combined.
