Merry Christmas to one and all. Although I've never had the pleasure of owning let alone shooting one of those gems, Jim at pellets & pistons airgun channel speaks very highly of the brand. According to him these breakbarrels are among the finest quality ever produced

@@greg4161 It’s a very nice looking airgun, that’s for sure! For what it cost back then I was surprised that the cocking rod had so much play and would rattle. Not a huge deal, but…. for the money? 🤷‍♂️ It’s definitely accurate, one my longer screws come in I can get the elevation dialed so I can shoot at longer distances. Thanks and Merry Christmas! 🎁🎄

That's a lovely airgun buddy. Your off hand shooting is also doing very well👍Try to find a scope from that period for the Webley and it will look great. A Leupold M4 with fixed magnification would be a good choice. It has no paralax adjustment but it's a very well made. Had one on my HW35 for a long time but mounted a red dot now. Happy Xmas!

I like the English springers but most were designed with the UK 12ft/lb legal limit in mind. Currently there are not many Britisch made springers (Webley is Hatsan, BSA is Gamo) only Airarms has some great ones but they are too expensive compared the HW's.
@airgunsofalaska
@airgunsofalaska Күн бұрын
@@buijs1967 I’ve not chronied this Webley yet. I don’t k ow when they had a 12ft/lb limit? Did it exist in the 80’s? I’d guess since this one was imported into the USA it wouldn’t have had to comply with a UK spec, especially with how performance oriented Beeman seemed to be. It’s sad how England lost their domestic airgun industry just like we have in the USA.
@elginsparrowhawk7203
@elginsparrowhawk7203 Күн бұрын
@I could be wrong but since the gun laws of the 1960’s(66?) the UK had the sub 12 limit.Export models were meant to be more than 12ft/lbs .There’s a story of when the machinery had bedded in at the factory, Webley had to fit a weaker spring to comply with the UK limit ( mk 2 Vulcan). Power in spring air rifles isn’t always advantageous.

@@airgunsofalaska Thanks buddy! IDK how useful this info is but the 34 I've had forever has always had an issue with rod rattling, it gets very loose and rattly then completely tight again in totally predictable cycles over several hundred shots, weirdest thing.

I purchased a Webley Hawk pellet rifle from Beeman in 1978---with use the barrel started bending from cocking I never "over-cocked" it. I could bend the barrel back, however when cocking again it woudl eventually bend again. I sent it back--they gave me a refund. I bought a Feienwerkenbau124 from them which I used very often..having replaced two pistol seals and two springs. Many a varmint were dispatched with that 124.

@@Starman2440 That’s pretty crazy! Fortunately the cocking effort on this gun is very light. I saw in the old Beenman catalog this gun has a lifetime warranty I believe. It’d be kinda funny to see if they’d actually honor it almost 40 years later.

Great gun... I do not own one, but have a Beeman C1 and Bearcub both in .22 and they have taken out more raccoons than all of my other airguns combined. Both are basically Vulcans with shorter barrels and both are still on their first mainspring. I am curious how one tightens the barrel pivot? Mine don't have visible barrel pivot bolts to tighten down.
@airgunsofalaska

@@michaelwthalman I didn’t know the C1 was a Vulcan. I wanted one back in the mid 80’s but they were expensive and I never bought one. I thought they looked really nice, I liked the style. I’ve not looked closely at the barrel hinge. I’ll have to make note of it in a future video.

@@flashgordon99999 Thanks for the info! I definitely prefer to keep it 100% factory original but…. I’ve been looking through all my rear sights checking if any will fit. At some point I’ll likely modify the screw mounting pattern on some other rear sight so it’ll screw onto the Webley hole pattern. From reading through the comments, I can see why the parts I’ve seen listed on UK websites are so absurdly expensive. I didn’t know it was out of production.
