@@jimstewart5008 It definitely was a disappointment. I’d have figured out a way to clean up the crown but I saw no point to do so after examining how the magazine interfaced with the breech. That’s a good way to look at it. If a guy just wants an underlever repeater and is fine with BB gun accuracy, this gun will fill that role nicely. If a person only shoots cans and large objects at around 10 yds they’ll probably be content with it. Problem is, there are other repeater style pellet guns that can easily do that and more for a lot less money. I’m bummed I didn’t listen to my gut and cancel the 2nd order while it was sitting for days waiting to ship. I’d canceled it the 1st time I ordered the gun.

@@motorgearhead I was surprised by how much more stable I was. I usually can’t do that as most guns recoil a bit. Last night I took this gun apart to see what it looked like. It’s a refreshingly simple system that allows it to recoil. The round, yellow colored bushing they told me that might need replacement at 3000+ shots is easy to get to and remove/replace. I suspect you could twist it a 1/4 turn and then put wear on the untouched sides and that’d last a good long while. I can’t see that part costing very much. I’ve received some excellent advice on pellet head size from some viewers and think that’s going to be the key to consistent accuracy with this gun.

While there are a lot of arenas like that in the USA, I’d much rather be able to just shoot in my yard than have to pack everything up and drive somewhere. The one I had was giving me similar results. I would get a group then it would change. I took it out a few times trying different pellets and it kept doing the same. Get a nice group then they open up. I noticed the bluing was wearing off one side of the breech block when being cocked, but when I looked it seemed to have plenty clearance on each side. The I noticed the action was rotating enough when I was cocking it that it would rub on the housing. It rubbed most the bluing off before I caught it. I could rotate the action enough to hit the sides of the ZRS housing the action sits in. Since the scope is mounted to the housing and the action and barrel was rotating there was not way to hold center. Since it rubbed the blue off one side I sent it back. The bottom housing comes off really easy. Mine even came with all the allen tools to do it. I looked it over and didn't find any way to tighten it up so I ended up sending it back. I would make sure the action isn't rotating in the ZRS system first. If it were perfectly centered back up each shot it my hold groups.

I got the 22 from tractor supply. I was also underwhelmed with the accuracy... Since the purpose of an underlever is better accuracy. I have found that the accuracy is better with sticking the pellet in the barrel and then popping the magazine back on top with nothing in it. It is a really tight fit jamming a pellet in that tiny slot but it is better than pellets hitting all over the place. Basically defeats the purpose of the magazine by adding it that way but I finally got some consistency. I have found the the jsb jumbo monster 25.39 grain gets decent groups by single loading. Plus you need more of a long, cylindrical pellet to slide it in that way easily. The JTS dead center 25.39 grain also is very good but has a few more flyers. So it won't load quickly but it does really pack a punch with those heavy pellets. Also it's quieter inserting the pellets in the barrel and popping the mag back on (empty)... Not sure why it's quieter but it is a little. I have accidentally dry fired this gun and it sounds like a 22! I would like to see a chrono on this gun because it has way more power than the other air guns I own. So, if i could buy a single loader mag that would align perfectly I think it would be decent gun. My conclusion is that most of the inaccuracy comes from that darn mag... Durable steel but doesn't align well with advancing round. Anyways thank you for the review!

It isn’t practical to load the gun that way and defeats the whole concept of a repeater. I already sent my gun back for a refund. I’m a little miffed that OTSA gave it such a glowing review as that’s what pushed me over the edge to buy it. While it could be the QC is so bad on these guns that he got a good one out of luck and mine was a piece of trash or maybe the .22 is more accurate than the .177? In any case I’m more mad at myself for buying the dumb thing as OTSA’s groups weren’t very good and when you measure a group using your thumb… well, I should have taken that as a red flag. The splatter burst targets he uses also make groups look tighter than they are. They show up great of video but aren’t good for showing precision.

Wise to return it! I also thought the review was promising but I am after accuracy not so much for plinking steel. For that it would be great because it would load fast and the under lever action is fun. I decided to "pull the trigger" on it as well. Partially from that review and because I wanted an underlever. I should have waited longer because your review would have made me change my mind. Tractor supply said no returns on air rifles. Anyways at least it hits hard. I also agree that standard diabolo pellets don't fit well when loading them in the breech but it did improve accuracy. The more expensive/barrel shaped monsters slide in ok. Them crossman heavy's didn't look bad. Nice group maybe it likes heavier pellets. Have you put it through the chronograph See if it's not all over the place. You could try Molly or possibly krytox, on the Bushing. It's definitely cool enough to throw the kitchen sink at.🤙😂 More gucci pellets!!

@@jackpotparty58 😄 I purposely go out of my way to show viewers everything when I shoot. That can make it really difficult to film a video segment in one take. After I get this gun figured out I’ll be cutting way back on videos as they are a lot more difficult to film during the winter. In the spring/summer/fall it’s way easier to film as the weather isn’t as much of a factor and I have plenty of light. I’m liking this gun, just want to get to where everything comes together and we can see what it can do.

A bushing needs replacing every 3k shots? Dang it'd better be a cheap and easy job cus it'll need to be done all the time.
@airgunsofalaska
@airgunsofalaska 3 күн бұрын
@@yoitired I don’t know what it costs nor how easy or difficult it might be to replace? I was thinking about the shot count and 3000 rounds for the way I shot would take a long time to get to. I spread my shooting over so many different guns they I realized it isn’t something I’m worried about. I tend to get a new gun, shoot it a bunch initially and then it sits and I occasionally shoot it again once in a while.

Thanks for sharing your journey with this Norica! You know ever air rifle reacts a little to how it's held. With an air rifles that may be pellet picky is it possible to clean the barrel and stick with one manufacture of pellets at a time? I try to reduce the amount or possibility of fouling caused by mixing different leads. So I shot all Crosman pellets and ten shot groups at a time before moving on to the next manufacturer. Aka: H&N pellets, JSB pellets. I found this way an easier way to find what pellets my air rifles may like. Checking the other reviews it seems the JSB 15.9g and 18.1g shoot best? Keep trying I know you'll find it.

@@gmanneod8085 I was thinking about that after I watched a video just now where they said this gun prefers JSB 18gr Diablos. It occurred to me that those have a soft skirt and they might like a fresh, newly cleaned barrel the best. That’s definitely worth pursuing as I don’t have a lot of those pellets left in my collection.

@@scavengernick3191 On one of my 20 yd targets I tried 18gr JSB Exact Diablos and it was awful. They looked like a shotgun. I don’t have a ton of them left so I’ve been shooting the pellets I’ve got on hand. I know the gun is capable, I just need to find the right pellet and gel with it consistently.

I just recently purchased a daisy Avanti 753 US Cadet it was worn and battered and leaked I put a rebuild kit in it and it is a sweet shooter I think it'll make a great winter time shooter where you don't have to worry about CO2 or pumping them up a lot or anything matter of fact just load and shoot super accurate and I love the single stroke.
