Most WCI units are easy to get the motor out, the entire bulkhead assembly usually comes out in one piece, then you can get the motor out. I'm not familiar with this style chassis but all their normal window and wall units are built that way.

I get preferring recips, they sound better and start cooling quicker, but I just don't get the constant hate for rotaries. Yes, the new ones are junk, but that is just because everything is made like crap now. The older rotaries are quite solid, work well and will last a good long time (like that Matsushita you have in that unit.)Those old Matsushita units are also pretty smooth once they get up and running. I just see no reason to cut up a perfectly functional all original unit just to change out a perfectly good compressor.

I know how you feel. I’d feel the same way. If you’re gonna be at the June 30th meet, would you like me to sell you the original Matshushita? You can buy it from me

@@willthetrill4849 No, that's okay. I have a bunch of Matsushita rotaries both in units as well as 2 that came out of very rotted out units. I also live in NC, so won't be making it to the meet, even though I would love to some day attend one. Thanks for the offer though.
