A brief look at my 1986 Fantic 301 Trials bike. This machine was Fantic's first monoshock, and first bike with a front disk brake.

Yes it was quite a popular machine in its day. Still fun to ride.

Hello. Can you tell me how you adjust the position of the rear brake pedal I’ve just finished restoring a 301 and once I’ve adjusted the alloy brake arm with the correct free play the brake pedal is too far up. Am I missing an adjuster on the pedal itself? I’d really appreciate your feedback on this. Many thanks B

I don't think there's an adjuster there, but I'll take a look for you and respond in a day or two.

@@wakinossin Thank you. I can’t remember the brake lever sticking up so far on my original one!

@@brianrundle9219 OK I don't know how to send you photographs of mine. Looks to me as if the brake pedal slides through the frame and connects to the lever that attaches to the brake rod which goes to the lever on the backing plate. The connection of the lever/brake pedal is secured with a nut - perhaps that lever/brake pedal angle is somewhat adjustable where the nut tightens? I don't really want to take mine off to figure that out though. You may want to give it a try.

@@wakinossin Hi Thanks for this. I hadn’t realised that the foot brake lever has splines on the end so just moved the arm behind the frame. It was so long ago that I started the resto I’d forgotten. Now All sorted bike looks and runs like new. Many thanks Brian.
