Love that bike! Almost 60, been riding Harley for years, but this bike takes me back to my teenage years and my Honda XL 350. Would buy this bike in a heartbeat! Great job!

Had a 1984nmodel and rode it 130.000 km without any problems. One of the best bikes ever.

I had one of these when I was 16. Too much bike for me at that point but I managed not to kill myself somehow. Very few people could go where I could on their bikes. Just so much low end on this thing. No hill too steep or mud too deep. Thump thump thump. What a beast!

the strongest and most powerful bike ive ever ridden. i once got into an accident, the bike i hit with xl600r was literally broken in two piece.

Where did you purchase the CRF450 front brake assembly and what years of CRF? I am rebuilding an "87 XL600R now. Thanks, and nice video! I ended up installing an '87 CR500 front brake caliper with a new master cylinder all from ebay. I'm now waiting for the new front brake line. ebay is amazing for parts on these old bikes.

What exact exhaust do you have on that. I know they don’t make any for the xl? Do you have xr headers and then an xr exhaust bolted up to them
@bigdmc16 жыл бұрын
Chandler Emhoff It was from an older 80s XR 600 R but since the XL has a shorter stroke it kind of touches the right side cover but it fits with some modification had to change a few mounts
@brianaroth9 жыл бұрын
What did you use for mounting mirror on right side? The CRF 450 master cylinder does not have a mirror mount.

what kind of paint did you use on the engine? heat resistant?
@bigdmc15 жыл бұрын
Frederic Raymond The poly urethane automotive type paint with Hardner engine doesn’t get that hot that you need a hot coat like you would on headers
