Kids today will not understand pat summerall because he did not show alot of emotions when he spoke. Thing is back then the NFL spoke for itself and he let john Madden get the attention. These days there are no great rivalries if you ask me. Teams don't have a genuine dislike for each other. They still respected one another but how can you like your rival if you are playing one another. Be friends when the game is over. If you knock someone on there ass let them help themselves up. It's all about money now days. Back then they were payed well but they were not all millionaires. It's hard for me to follow professional sports now. I want to be a sports fan but every time I realize it's just not possible. It was a different time and it will never come back again. I always new it was temporary TBH. The thing is the NFL is getting old. Every year that goes by it gets another year old. I could care less who wins the next super bowl.

FACTS: The Modern Player is stronger and faster then his 1980's Counterparts. What they knew about conditioning and sports science in the 80's is neanderthal compared to now. You can just compare the Measurements: Height, Weight, 40 yard and 20 yard shuttle times. Modern NFL players don't sacrifice as much agility and speed for their size and strength. Plus 70's 80's Games were clumsier, WAYYY more blooper reels. The Playbooks were as complex as my High School Varsity team. No seriously; you can download 1980's NFL Playbooks to compare. Thats the worse part of it: The Strategy was stupid; 1 or 2 Slow TE's and FBs all bunched up around the LOS; which the Defense matches with THEIR Linebackers and Linemen. There's just a pile on 60% of plays. Its stupid. It usually did not work. From 2005 and esp 2007 the NFL underwent a strategic revolution. One Back; spread the field, and even the run game opens up. Take a FB or TE off the field and they take LBs off the field. Your 5 O Linemen only have 6 in the box. Stuff 7 in the box and the Defense brought 8. Its just Stupid. Its only used as a changeup now; and it can work if the FB is a virtual TE and catches passes for 1st downs. Or else its playing offense with a hand tied behind your back.
