The Barricade Off-Road Classic Rear Bumper features a swing out spare tire carrier perfect for tires up to 37". A custom-designed billet aluminum handle securely locks the tire carrier in place so there is no worry of it coming loose on the trail.
Manufactured from 3/16" mild steel plating and 2"x0.120" tubing this Barricade Off-Road Rock Crawler Rear Bumper is completed in a two stage finish using epoxy pre-coating and high-grade textured black powder coating for long lasting durability. The D-Ring mounts are welded both inside and outside for extra strength.
This Barricade Off-Road Classic Rear Bumper with Tire Carrier is specifically designed for use on 1987-1995 YJ and 1997-2006 TJ Jeep Wranglers.

I bought this bumper for my LJ from Extreme. I drilled and tapped the hinge for a grease zerk and I had to buy new bolts because the bolts included are too short. If you DO NOT have a body lift you will have to notch the license plate mount... no biggie. Also, their wasn't enough adjustment to get my 5th wheel/ tire to fit against the frame, so I had to drill and tap and install some rubber spacers. I'm running 255/85/16 km2 on 8x16 with 4" BS. When I put 315/75/16's on, I will be able to remove the rubbers spacers, if I want... It wasnt an issue for my LJ, but if you have a YJ or TJ, watch that you don't drill into you gas tank when drilling the holes through the rear cross member!! I suggest a step bit... It's a nice bumper. I recommend.

Very informative as I am expecting this tail gate kit to arrive on friday and have been prepping my TJ by removing the previous bumper, (not easy as one side was dinged up by a drunk driver) but seeing this video now makes it more clear how the new bumper mounts to the frame which is extremely helpful!

looks great ,i think that 1/4 inch thick tubing would be better size,reciever hitch is there but not rated to tow ? could be a liability issue, locktite or lock washers on the bottom bolts is better than 2 flat washers.I realize your need to keep production cost down, but as a buyer this bumper is not strong enough for what i do.

This bumper is not as strong as the real version smittybilt. This only uses 3 bolts on each side. Smitty uses 7 bolts each side. The xrc bumper uses 7 bolts each side

Terrible video. The bumper doesnt just come preassembled with all that hardware for you to attach your jeep as shown in the video at 8:00. What is the point of the video if it doesnt even match the instructions that come in the box?

It's mainly used for tailgate mounted accessories that don't require a tow rating. Bike racks, storage baskets, a step, and so on.
