Superior Rock-Crawling Abilities. After installing a big lift kit, the next step is to bolt on the Rough Country Long Arm Upgrade Kit. This kit will replace the stock lower and upper control arms on your 1997-2006 Jeep Wrangler TJ to further improve the ground clearance, suspension articulation, and rock-crawling abilities of your rig. The extreme travel long arms and high clearance lower control arm design are designed to maintain the optimum alignment to deliver superior traction, grip, and wheel articulation when you need it most. Certainly an upgrade for heavy-duty trail rigs, this affordable long arm upgrade kit is intended for TJ Wranglers that are rocking 4” or larger lift kits.
Maximum Articulation. The Rough Country Long Arm Upgrade Kit is precision-crafted from premium-grade OEM materials to deliver uncompromising performance and quality. This is a complete long arm kit that includes lower high clearance arms with X-Flex joints, upper control arms with X-Flex joints, control arm mounting brackets, rubicon compressor bracket, and the necessary hardware. Also included are lower high-clearance arms with X-Flex joints, upper control arms with X-Flex joints, and a track bar bracket for the rear suspension. A spherical bearing at one end allows for 35 degrees of articulation whereas the polyurethane bushing located at the axle end will allow for 20 degrees of articulation.
Professional Installation. Installing the Rough Country Long Arm Upgrade Kit requires a high level of mechanical expertise. Professional installation is highly recommended. This kit is applicable to the 1997-2006 Jeep Wrangler TJ excluding the Unlimited model.

I just wanna say that if you've had the frame repaired, the mounts for the control arms need to be ground down to fit the new frame rails. Other than that, I followed this video step for step and this was an easy install. Thank you for making this video.

What did you do about the parking brake cables? They used be mounted the upper control arms. What about the brake line you unbolted from the upper control arm mount you removed? Was it relocated?

I would've made sure the zirk fitting was pointing down for ease of greasing. Even if they're high clearance, where those sit, if you can knock a zirk off, you're special

Girl said the exhaust has to be cut and re-route it at 2:05 min ? But during installation I didn’t see that happening did I miss something?

Thats because the Muffler wasn't stock, looks likes an aftermarket glass pack. A stock muffler just hits the rear control arm.

Did you installed a Long Arm Kit on a stock Jeep? Also, If you installed both Rough County Adjustable Link Arms wouldn’t that eliminate some extra steps? I’m gonna look into this for my JKU.

Why not clean up all that surface rust on the frame, and spray or brush it with a good rust reformer first? I mean, your already there!

The Jeep is not his own, he was paid to install a lift kit. The customer would be pretty pissed to find an additional charge for brush wiring and coating there frame. Not something cheap

On the rear upper control arms where do you measure from exactly. In the video you measured from heim to short side on one and from him to long side on the other. Which measurement is correct?

meech hayes great flex, i have the six inch rough country long arm kit. It has great flex, and heavy duty arms, however..... The bushings go out constantly Over and over. The driveshafts fail over and over The stearing stabilizers do not work at all The shocks are cheap and stiff feeling

@@MrAbsentdriver what did you do to fix the issues you have or had?
@MrAbsentdriver
@MrAbsentdriver 4 жыл бұрын
nonie lacuesta since then, i have had more issues. The bushings must be replaced more often then you change your oil. Since i last commented, i went through also another rough country driveshaft. I replaced it with a tom woods driveshaft, in which i am pleased. I upgraded to one ton stearing and one ton stearing and fox stearing stabilizer, which has also been good. Essentially everything that was rough country has been trashed, and part by part replaced. The only thing now rough country left on my jeep is the long arms. I currently need to replace the bushings again. I am going to try tuff sfuff bushings this time. Please learn from my mistake and stear clear away from rough country. I hate that i bought ther kit. It is worth the extra money to get a better brand. They appear to have very little quality control. The price you save buying ther kit bites you in the butt shortly, because it is utterly junk. In case you are wondering my driving style, i drive carefully, but do use my jeep to play. I take care of my jeep meticulously. I put the long arm kit on at 93,000 miles three years ago. Now i am at 113,000 miles. Have a look at clayton offroad long arm kits. They seem good and tough. I wish i had gone that route now. I do still love my jeep though. Cringe everytime i see a truck with rough country stickers...... Hope you have better luck if you purchased the same kit.

I bought this lift. Haven’t installed it yet. Comes with a dropped pitman arm. However I’ve seen other videos say to leave stock pitman arm, unless you also installed a dropped upper mount for the trackbar.
