Alex, man, I found your vids dealing with the yotas recently and they're great. You should continue to document your progress with what you do to the 4Runner. The vids have helped me out with my recently acquired pickup. I think a lot of us wouldn't mind watching your build recordings. Peace, have a good day!

Nice work! I've been keeping up with your build on Yotatech. It's cool to see a video as well!

My 86 has those same exact dings on the hood in the sample place ... the tack welds on the supports welded to the underside of my hood are also breaking loose so I figured it had something to do with that.

Waiting to see the state of the 4Runner. It would be great restored stock, but also interested in your SAS plans. Last I remember the BJS were tearing apart your lower ball joints (probably because the upper control arm bump stops needed to be extended to prevent the lower control arm from being the droop limiter). A torsion bar crank would have been more reliable believe it or not! Let us know your suspension plans and your body work progress soon please!

Slowly (very slowly) collecting parts. It's still the goal, just working through other priorities first.

@@TheAlexManVideos That is awesome man! I've done a couple and it's super satisfying. I am going to hopefully pick up an 87 turbo 4runner this weekend in Southern CA. Hopefully he doesn't sell it before I can get there

I have those same two dents on my hood ridge
@TheAlexManVideos8 жыл бұрын
+jetsgo66 I think it has to do with how the hood flexes when it gets slammed shut. I've seen it on other Pickups and 4Runners too. Just guessing but it's something that each one will experience just the same as the others.
@jetsgo668 жыл бұрын
TheAlexManVideos that's a good guess as it doesn't look like there was any to my hood contact whenever it happened

One question. You have the car stripped down like this, why not actually weld new metal in? your 4runner is worth more than fiberglass and bondo. You should see how they rust out here in eastern Canada... oh my god
@TheAlexManVideos8 жыл бұрын
+Mogo McG I welded in new steel to repair the big dent in the rear quarter, the rusted out rear wheelarch, the windshield frame, the driver's floor, and the rockers. Body filler was used after all these to smooth it out obviously. Filler was also used to smooth all the door dings up and down the side of the truck. 29 years of parking in parking lots leaves a lot of little dents on the side. The fiberglass was used because it's a lot quicker, although ugly. I used this only to repair the where the firewall meets the cowl because it doesn't show and it's a difficult area to work in.
