His father may have been a Icon in his time, but Hank Jr. is his own self made man. His singing Voice is unmistakable and unique ! Thank god he didn’t die on that mountain! If his mother had succeeded in having him to continue to do his daddy's songs just look at what we would've missed. I'm glad he insisted on doing his "own thing" because both him and his music have made my life better. I have been a fan since my late teens (I'm no longer a spring chicken) and as a fan I have enjoyed both looking at him(his IS easy on the eyes) and listening to his music. I very much appreciate the fact that his mother did not succed in having him walk in his father's shoes.

The ironic thing about me finding this video today is, my wife and I saw Hank Jr for the first time live last week. (July 2022). We talked about it latter and both thought, we liked it, but kinda wish he would have sang the songs the way we were use to hearing them. HA HA. Obviously hasn't changed a bit and I can appreciate that. Still bangs on the keyboard with his boots too. 🤣

Hank Jr was Nashville's orphaned son, but he actually had a slew of stand-in father types, who all cared deeply about him. Johnny Cash ( June too ) Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Farron Young, Merle Kilgore all took turn's watching over young Hank, but at the end of the day none were actually Hank Sr, so none could really put their boot in his ass when he got too far out of line partying, so he ran wild in the country whenever it suited his fancy 🤷🏻‍♂️ In the end though, Ol' Hank Williams Jr did a pretty good job of raising himself when the time became necessary for it. HW Jr absolutely ruled Country Music, from the late 70's- early 90's Hank reign supreme & he should have gone into The HOF somewhere round 96-99, but the HOF voter's kept him out till just a couple year's ago 😡 Better late, than never I guess. smh

One night in a bar called "the brass rail" in Hamilton Montana (which is now a grocery store parking lot!) I saw Hank jr....in a drunken stupor....jump up onto the stage and grab the guitar from the lead man, and proceed to tell the band that they sucked...and he was gonna show them how to play music. The whole band dragged him off the stage and into the parking lot and gave him a lesson in manners and respect. The whole place stood laughing at him as he stumbled to his truck and left. He never came around town after that.

Man i love Hank Jr. ever since i was a young kid, i can still remember listening to my first and absolute favorite song on the NEW SOUTH cassette tape called 'Montgomery In The Rain' for the first time in my dads car back when i was about 3 or 4 years old and i was hooked, ive listened to that tape probably more times then anyone on this planet, i still love it to this day and always will cause its one of my earliest memories..

My very first favorite song, my mom bought on a 45 record in 1968, was Hank's "Cajun Baby". I near wore out that record on her console stereo record player.

Wish Hank Jr. could have been there for his son. It's a shame the fame comes with the burden.

I think every "section" of these Great United States has its own accent in speech. I am from the same general section as Bocephus, his accent has never changed. The South Alabama twang sounds like home to me. Ol Bocephus has made this guy very proud.. Please forgive my bad grammar.

I paid to see him in Augusta me around the time of this interview. 86-87 somewhere in there. He was out if it he couldn't sing. He finally found peace shortly after that. He's a heck of a singer.
