A natural conclusion if you're bright is that you can use your thumb like that. It's such an obvious idea it's not worth attributing to any person. I attended the concert at the time of this interview in Toronto. It was bad, but I didn’t care because Megadeth was my favourite band at the time. They just played the music to Wake Up Dead, The Conjuring, Peace Sells, and Devil’s Island and Dave didn’t sing the lyrics.

Getting kicked out of metallica ended up being the best thing for everyone. I think he was bringing the band down (on a personal level, not a musical level) Metallica is amazing, and megadeth is amazing. Both different, both original, both with their own unique flavor. Megadeth didn't ride the coattails of metallica. They went their own way. I wouldn't love megadeth as much as I do if they just ripped metallica off, and metallica likely would've felt more stale if megadeth was out there copying them. One of those blessings that felt like a curse for Dave until much later in life.
