I used to set my VCR to record every drag racing show on TV. Even national dragster TV. The voice of Steve Evans makes me close my eyes, and remember my childhood. I miss the good old days.

Amen to that! Been a racer & race fan literally as far back as I can remember ( since 1965, I was 4 ) For my money, Big Mac & Evans are the greatest announcing duo in the all of Motorsport's! In short, The G.O.A.T.'s RIP to them both 🙏 ✝️

I had Street Magic speed shop in Buford, Ga. with Jerry Brown Chevrolet dealership and Warren Johnson shop there. Boom Gary Brown sneaking in Pro Stock good for him. Gary and I finished high school in 1970. Watching these old videos that seem like last week with my age 70 now. But finishing my last Street Magic with a chevy 540/10-71 blower dual stage nitrous but our drag strips are all gone along with Jerry Brown a good man and Street Magic shop only a memory ! But what a time we had 😀🇺🇸!!!

You're absolutely right there. This was definately the good ole days of racing. Whether NHRA or Nascar

Never seen NHRA from the 80s and like most 80s motorsports I've seen this is AMAZING. Those pro-stocks look more exciting than they do today or anytime since. (and they actually are stock)

Oh man, don't you just know that there were a ton of very disappointed Funny Car fan's up in the stands at Indy that day! 😫😵 I'll guarantee ya 75% of the stands were either Snake fan's, or Bud King fan's, so you know there was a lot of 😭😭😭😭😭😭 after round 1, including this Snake fan! 😂

if you listen to the commentator one starts to understand how the nhra took away the teams authority to make choices for themselves.I ended up not watching the video after a few funny car runs due to straight poor commentators...
