Got a 1980 model with 18,000 miles, a 350 engine, fully loaded, never been on a wet road, and it still has the original tires. Alabama

I’m with you, I’d paint it the original color and drive it. No cowl induction hood, no crazy wheels, just some window tint and paint.
@KevinRichards-my5oj3 күн бұрын
What makes that pickup unique is 1987 was the first year for fuel injected gasoline motors & the R/V series, & also the last year for the square body half ton & three quarter ton plain cab pickups.

I put on many sets of those rock guards when I worked at the dealer ship in the olden times. I have a NOS set in my toolbox.

Those square body pickups are the third generation C/K series pickups. The reason they changed the name of the series to R/V series in 1987 was to get ready & make a distinction between the square body models & upcoming fourth generation C/K series pickups which were the OBSs that were released in the 1988 model year because both of those body designs were going to be in production at the same time which lasted up through 1991. They wanted to help people avoid confusion with the square bodies & OBSs.

My 88 1/2 ton 2 wheel drive . I went 280,000 miles before anything went wrong and that was my trans need to be rebuilt
@DavisOffRoad14 күн бұрын
Pretty much as expected, the transmission is aware item it eventually has to wear out these things were really built tough
@bobbrinkerhoff35924 күн бұрын
Yep , it even has the typical mid 80s GM paint flaking .I can remember the cab trim , without the two tone .

Three inch exhaust on those old three 350s. That thing's gonna die from too much air flow. I think they about 150 HP. 😅 Nice truck to restore the easy way. I wish I would have started with a gem like that 35 years ago. I pay you sticker price cash tomorrow afternoon. We tore all that stuff out and threw it in the garbage. That is absolutely right. 😅

These had 3” from the cat to the muffler. And twin 2 1/4 tailpipes. You obviously aren’t old enough to know what every muffler shop did when the twin pipes rotted out. And it’s 200 hp. But nice try.

LOL! Original 1 owner truck (but second owner bought in 2019) then he says never touched the frame but he repainted the whole thing, then says the interior is never touched-BUT he put a dash pad then had the cluster apart& the carpet replaced. Oh! The brake pad was replaced (sign of high mileage) Come on man! That K20 much more Original and your like the 4th owner. Still a nice truck though
