Sophomore I-Back Ken Clark with two touchdowns, a reception and a run. Diving way up over the top on that second one like Roger Craig or Mike Rozier used too! Alas they really bottled up him and Jones. Never the less, you knew that Ken was going to be a great one. Snakebit, Keith Jones with two fumbles in 2 carries and lost them both. We needed Ken that day. Rod Smith was a great Wide-Receiver and return man for us. Really a forgotten player in Husker History. Had great hands and was an awesome athlete. Super throw by Steve Taylor for the 49 yard score. Smith made a superb catch in full stride and scored! Wow!!!

For those who don't know, Dave Richards went from being a member of the 1986 SMU team, the last one before they got the Death Penalty to being the starting offensive lineman to playing in this game in that stadium with a Hall of Fame QB,

This game ended up in ESPN due to the fact CBS had the US Open tennis tournament on that day and thus didn’t have the ability to show a game in the afternoon window

Brinson with a sensational game! Dana was one of the fastest players in school history. Maybe in College Football history? Keith Jones was supposed to be faster, but he never timed as fast as a Senior, as he had as a Sophomore. Brinson actually timed faster. In electronic 10 and 40 yard times, these guys were legitimately as fast as anyone in the country.

Yes!! The 'Tuff Enough' intro thrilled my 13 yr old heart and served as a great prelude to a great game

Only thing I can remember about this game is that Nebraska could not run the football. Steve Taylor threw for 5 Touchdowns. I think Sophomore I-Back Ken Clark got the first touchdown of his career, as returning starter Senior Keith Jones was bottled up all day and I think had a couple of fumbles. Jones was one of the fastest players in the country, if not thee fastest, but he never really came on as a Running Back until Mid-way though his senior year. He would have benefited from a Redshirt season in '85 which he never got despite little playing time.

Lots of pretty flagrant holding by UCLA that wasn't called. Two good teams butting hrads, and Taylor had a great day.
