9:02 you can't do that today. And That's real football right there, snd it would've been really awesome if that happened again in the Florida game it would really more shut ESPN, the experts, the top coaches, and the Florida Gators, the FUCK UP for all the shit they said about Nebraska before the game and could've been 84-24 or higher.

I've engaged with Rob Johnson a few times until I realized he's just bitter and has a lot of misplaced anger. About what? I have no idea. I've suggested counseling, whether he gets the help he needs is entirely up to him. Engaging in his asinine arguments and fueling his pugilistic bitterness is not helping him. We should encourage him to get help. 👍

This Washington team should have been unanimous national champions. Anywhere but at the Orange they beat Miami based on Miami's track record if nothing else. (Maybe Washington could have beaten them at the Orange, BUT YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE TO). Nebraska played UW, and Miami, but you can't really compare the 2. Miami repeatedly got a home night game in Orange bowls to determine the national championship. '83 team, '87, '91, (even '94 they gave Nebraska that tall task of going in there to move the ball on Ray Lewis, Warren Sapp, etc, I think that defense was allowing 220 ypg in '94). But they got an advantage no one else ever got to win 3 of the 4 titles. What if Miami had to leave the Orange bowl to play a big bowl game to have a shot at the national title for those 1983-1994 teams 😂😂😂 It never gets mentioned in the 30 for 30 THE U pt 1 or 2, or anywhere else. Go look it up. They wilted almost every time it wasn't at home. They didn't just lose. '85 team vs Tennessee, Sugar, blown out. '86, Penn State, Fiesta, lost, '89, Alabama, Sugar, thats the only big game away from home they won, '92, Alabama, Sugar, blown out, '93 wasn't for the title versus Arizona but it was away from home....and what happened 😂😂😂

I was on the sidelines for this game, covering it for KOMU-TV in Columbia, MO. Will never forget standing behind the end zone when James Wilder tossed that Husker to the ground like a rag doll on his game-winning TD.

Probably the most talented team in Nebraska history, lead the nation in turnovers and were still in the national title hunt the entire year. Literally gave away the national title due to carelessness with the ball. The 95 team was supremely disciplined but probably not as talented top to bottom...this 99 team had all the seniors from Nebraskas best recruiting class in program history and a future heisman winner.

After just watching N.U. lose another close game last night (one of many over the last few years), I was reminded of what the great Husker teams of the past had that the teams of the last 20+ years have been missing: toughness, conditioning, speed, swagger, and coaching stability. Admittedly, a Head Coach like Tom Osborne only comes around once every few generations (how many future HOF Head Coaches are coaching CFB teams today?), but he had players who were not necessarily just better than all the players on the other teams...they just excelled at executing his and N.U.'s system. Will N.U. ever come "back" to being an elite CFB power? I don't think so, but then I'm a pessimist. They will eventually get back to winning 8-10 games a season (maybe), but the glory years of the 90s (where they competed for and won Championships) were probably a one-time deal.

Nebraska had a hell of a defense that year …had they had this defense the year before 1983 they would’ve easily won the national championship

Nick Saban is a defensive " genius" according to ABC Announcer Mark Jones, yet Saban's defense on this day gave up a total of. 666 yards and 50 points to Nebraska in a blowout loss at home. 😊😊😊😊

As great as we was in 95 I honestly believe the Fraser stays healthy all of 94. We may have been even better in 94 then we were at 95 if we had finished the job you gotta think we was beat up all year, we stayed healthy the whole year my God we would’ve rolled everybody. We still want all the games, but I honestly believe it’s Fraser wasn’t rusty against Miami in the orange bowl that we beat Miami by 30 points.

I was there. What I remember most about this game was how perfect the lighting was and how vivid the game was. It felt like you could see every little detail about the game even if you were far away. The players seemed to sense this, and even though there were 80,000 fans there, it felt like each one was right next to the players. It's hard to explain, but everything was so crystal clear. Forget about who won or lost, it was a classic game and a "moment."

I can still remember getting up that morning to watch college football. ABC was so great back then. I was in the 8th grade, I still remember how the weather was outside and can still picture what my living room felt and looked like that morning. I'm a Texas fan, but was very interested in this game because we needed an OU loss to get back into title contention. Man I miss those days. Number 1 and number 2, both from the Big 12, slugging it out like the two great teams they were. God bless all you others who remember these days. Go Big Red, Boomer Sooner, Hook 'em! 🤘

I remember a UCLA defensive back nearly killed Dana Brinson coming across the middle that day. I saw Dana with a blond on each arm at the team hotel that night so I knew he was gonna live lol. He got hit so hard he swallowed his mouthpiece and he told me "I wouldnt recommend playin football to anyone...its rough out there! "

Great 3-part documentary. Only real quibble I have is with the contention that Penn State never stumbled after the "win" against Nebraska (B.S.). In fact, they got worked over by Bear Bryant's final Alabama team, 42-21. Not only did this happen ONE WEEK after Nebraska (giving further credence to the theory that a lot of teams would have a bad or mediocre game the week after they played the Huskers due to the physical pounding they had received from the Big Red), but it came at the hands of a team that finished 8-4. THIS, to me, is a greater injustice than the pro-Penn State shenanigans that the disgraceful referees pulled in the Nebraska game. Penn State should NEVER have had a CHANCE to win the national title going into their Sugar Bowl matchup with Georgia. Nebraska should have had that opportunity going into the Orange Bowl vs. LSU. THIS is why very few NU fans felt sorry for Paterno and his undefeated team in 1994. That, plus the fact that Nebraska would have dominated Penn State that year had they played, anyway (NU had a better and more well rounded team that season). Thanks for uploading this. Go Big Red.
