Crazy to think Grave Digger not only outlived most if not all of these trucks, but also became an iconic franchise.

Yeah and some of these trucks have not only retired but some of the original monster truck drivers recently passed away like Rich Hoosier (Bigfoot) Marvin Smith (Crimson Giant, Stomper, Wild Hair) and John Moore (No Problem)

Bigfoot wasn't there, oddly enough. He was the most popular truck back then.

It's amazing how cramped the courses were back then. So little margin for error.

I did some research. This event was at the 'original' Charlotte Coliseum, now known as Bojangles Coliseum. It was built back in the 1950's and still around today.

+Brian Severson I think at this time he didn't have rear steering on that truck. Might have been the best he could have lined up.
