I purchased this exact same bike in the mid 80's new from my local Yamaha dealer.. I had it for about a year and one day it wouldn't hardly run. I took it to the dealership for repair. The mechanic tore it apart but couldn't find the issue. He finally contacted Yamaha, and they explained that the diaphragms in the carbs were prone to get small pinholes in them. Yamaha covered the new parts and the labor for the repairs, which was nice because the warranty was out at that time.

My friend has a mildly tuned 535. He used to win the motorcycle drag nights at the local drag strip then ride back home. I have a video of it blowing the lights out of a 750

I could never explain why but the 535 was the coolest of the Virago line. Not too big, not too small, good accessory line-up and always looked great.

I think the 87 Virago 535 is the most beautiful Japanese cruiser ever made. So clean and simple looking, and has a potent little engine. I bought a used one 20 years ago, had it for 10 years with no issues. Mine was nowhere near as clean as this beauty, but I still had a lot of fun on it.
@JwpGaming2 жыл бұрын
I can recommend the 535 for anyone, one of if not the best bike I've owned in terms of reliability. Never left me on the road, fired up on first try, full choke after sitting outside in the snow for 6 months. The only thing ya wanna check out is that the reserve switch works. mine didn't so couldn't get very far, about 90-93 miles on a single tank. Very easy to work on too. carb work is wayyyy easier than the bigger models.

Just bought myself a virago 535 and she’s from 1997. Just waiting for the plates and then I’ll go and have fun. Really hyped about it. Has custom silvertail exhaust that makes her sound hella loud. For sure a great investment. Cost about 4000SFr. (4400$). Including servicing and MVI. Go get one before there all gone🔥

That is stunning! Testament to the owner looking after it extremely well. Only 3,500 miles! Mine has 50,000km! I have the '95 535s which was in nothing like that condition when I bought it in 2014. It's now just had a ground up, bare metal respray, bobber customisation. These really are great great bikes, everything you say in the vid. Swiss army knife, I like that! ✌

My '94, which I bought second hand in '07 with about 5k on it, has just turned 30K this week. And I don't ride it as much as she deserves because I pamper her like an obsessed lover.
