In this video I install a Camaro door chime module in my 1996 GMC Yukon to get rid of the old school buzzer. The chime module is from a 1993 to 1998 Camaro, GM part number 14101255. The chime module can be found under the driver side of the dash against the firewall in the convenience center.

Gm should have replaced that buzzer with the chime in 95 when they redesigned the interiors on these trucks. The buzzer sounds like a flatline alarm at a hospital when someone dies lol

I disagree and the 1999-2004 models SHOULD have kept that flatline buzzer sound as standard on the 1999 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra and the chime should be an optional choice.

If you're ever in a junkyard, look for chimes in the late 80's LeSabre, late 80's and some early 90's Electra/Brougham or 99-2000 Yukon Denali/Escalade. They've got chime modules that suit the truck a lot better than the early Camaro dingers. If you ever wanna know what they sound like just search videos of startups of the said vehicles. Bought a pink looking chime from a junkyard 88 Electra that seemed decent in my 94 Sonoma, up until I found a chime module from an 86 Vette. Chime from the Vette fits the smaller trucks much better.

Thank you for making this video! I don't mind the tone of the origonal buzzer, but the fact it does not shut off with the door open and the truck running drives me insane, but I didn't want to just remove it because then I would be clueless if I left my keys or left the headlights on. Thanks!

Recently done something like this to my 1994 F-150. Truck originally had a buzzer, last month I swapped it with a 1992 F-150 chime. Nifty little dingers suit the older trucks more in my opinion.

I've had mine removed for the whole 5 years I've had the Yukon. Just thought I'd get a newer one to make a video of it, but I've also been known to accidentally keep my running light on. Hasn't happened in a good while but we'll see if I keep it in or just remove it since I'm not used to it having one.

No, the newer s10/Blazer/Sonoma door chime is built into the body control module and is non changeable without modifying the body control module.

Had one pop up on eBay - I have a saved search with the part number so when it was listed I got an email. They do not pop up very often due to not having many of them out there but also not many people think the buzzer is worth selling.

Yes, most people, including myself when I first got the truck, take it out with no issues. The only thing is it will not tell you if your seat belt it bucked or not since it runes through the chime module.
