Having played both games, Rastan Saga controls better and is just overall a better game. Aside from the smaller sound track that is. While the person on this video makes it look easy Haunted Castle is something of a clunky mess.

Probably the worst arcade game ever released by Konami and one of their worst games in general. This is a true insult to the Castlevania/Akumajou Dracula franchise. The controls are broken and the graphics are poorly animated and undetailed with some really bad color choices. On top of all that this game is really hard and unforgiving. The only redeeming factor is the music, which is up on the high standards of this series.

@davintheraven The problem is that we often look at those old arcade games with glass eyed nostalgia. I found myself playing many old games i considered semi-classics at the time (GunSmoke, Athena, Trojan and so on....) and realizing how broken and/or unnecessarily hard they actually are. Our memories are tricked by the aforementioned glass eyed nostalgia.... :-)
