Porsche's triumph at the 1984 Paris-Dakar Rally with a modified 911 4x4 marked the first Porsche desert racing victory. Concurrently, Porsche was developing a contender for the new Group B rallying class, a boundary-pushing rally division which would prove to be a hotbed of innovation. Integrating the winning 911 4x4's engineering, Porsche created the limited-production 1985 959. Offered in Sport and Komfort models, the 959 was a versatile off-road and road car intended to captivate enthusiasts, with no expense spared and every detail considered. Both models feature carbon-Kevlar body panels, electronically controlled all-wheel drive, an innovative sequential turbocharging system, and a hydraulic suspension raises two inches for off-roading. The Komfort also has a stereo system and comfortable luxury interior. This particular 959 Komfort has remains in immaculate all-original low-mileage condition, retaining its original toolkit and numbers-matching torque wrench.
