Even though brake jobs are one of the most routine of maintenance items, it can sometimes be quite an involved process. Our 1988 Isuzu Trooper, with its manual locking hubs, is just one of those times a basic job can become quite time consuming. Let's get in the garage, and get a whole lot dirty. #brakes #isuzutrooper #isuzu

Great job on this. I've seen a few tutorials on this and if I had seen THIS one first, it would have saved me so much more time. Thanks for making this. (The info applies to the 89 Trooper as well, which is what I roll, though iirc, the brake pistons I needed the tool for were on the front of my vehicle)

Thank you very much. I always try to create tutorials for jobs that aren’t really covered well elsewhere. It’s pretty straightforward but always nice to watch to prep before doing the job.

I knew when after 1:27 Anna you listed every tool Anna why we needed them this is my video Bible. Even though I have a 1991 pick up there isn’t anything near as thorough as your video. Praise cheesus!

Thank you for being so thorough. I'm bing watching all your trooper videos. I have an 90 with the 2.6, can you do a video of your engine running and inside the cabin? My exhaust sounds weird and i have no other trooper to compare mine to.

22mm for the caliper carrier, caliper slider pins are 19mm. At least it dosent have ABS, the later Troopers do, and the tone rings are very fragile. The caliper slider pins need removal and re-greasing at least once a year, they are prone to seizing and you'll have the inner side of your disk eaten away....

13:33 do you have a link for this caliper winding and compressing tool you used? Thanks! Excellent content!

Not specifically….other than it was pretty cheap on Amazon and I bought the one with the most accessories. Bunch of them on there and be sure to check the reviews.

2 things. On the rear caliper you must turn the piston until the 2 notches are at 12 and 6 o'clock positions as the pads has 2 knobs that engage in those notches. that keeps the piston from turning when it comes out and when using the park brake. And 2, the brake fluid still looked dirty after flushing . should have done it longer , you dint have enough in the dirty bottle. When i do mine i get lots of dirty fluid out and the new is almost clear not honey color . My 86 has rear drum brakes but bleeding is the same.

Thanks for the tips. Brakes function perfectly. Not sure I’ve ever seen perfectly clear brake fluid. Brake fluid always has a “honey” color tint to it right out of the bottle.
