I had 2 of them box suburban but they were 4x4 and one was a '81 1500 the other was a '86 2500.....needless to say I liked the 1/2 ton better....that thing was a beast, basically unstoppable it never let me down, and it would suprise everybody when I'd swing doughnuts on it on dry asphalt with 33" off road tires, the first doughnut took a little time to get around but after the 3rd one and the momentum was going that thing would swing like buttah, kinda like a dog chasing it's tail.........some tweaker obviously liked the truck more than me because after coming back from partying all night I come to find it gone only to realize a tweaker stole it........the 2500 had transmission issues with the th400 a few months after I got it, so in reality I really didn't get too much quality time with it , and the '86 had way more smog crap on it than the '81 so it was basically a pig......the '81 had a black gm good wrench 290hp replacement motor in it ......thing was tough as nails, I ran it into the ground and it always came back for more.....
