Interesting they complained about the climate control. Compared to the 190 the W124 / W126 system is super easy to operate. The only confusing thing is maximum defrost (left most button) vs. partial defrost (one button to the right, with the arrow pointing up)

As a kid, my mom has this car new and after 4 years, I don’t think anyone knew how to use the climate controls. It was always either blowing too weak or too loud.

I was wondering is it possible to swap mercedes 300ce M103 straight engine with a V6 one? I'm looking for a higher power and a much better fuel consumption.

The M103 engine is one of the very best ever made, not just by MB. Keep it and enjoy it, a V6 with a bit more power won’t improve the driving experience nor the fuel consumption to a noticeable level, while you’ll sacrifice bulletproof reliability.

Although I love the ls400, the E class came out in 1986. When my parents were shopping for a new car, I tried to convince them to get the new ls400. But my mom wanted the Mercedes bank vault solidity, which she equated to safety and got the Mercedes instead. She also wanted something smalller.

the lexus sc coupe was a joke in refinement and luxury compared to the merc. Lexus came later with the coupe and still very much underdelivered.
