I didn't order it I bought a 1988 Caprice Michigan State Police car off the municipal auctions and pulled the 350 roller motor out of that and built it... I mainly just used the block cuz I didn't use really any of the internals... I put a Forged crank in....forged pistons... aluminum heads..... aluminum dual plane Edelbrock intake and a 850 CFM Holley carb..the carb had vacuum secondaries and I converted it to fully mechanical secondaries so all four barrels are being used at all times.. I'm not one that likes waiting on vacuum secondaries I like mechanicals.Plus with the cam that I use there's not much vacuum to begin with. Hard to find a mechanical secondary carb so I just buy the vacuum ones and convert the linkage to mechanical...thanks for asking

Thank you Justin for the compliment....The exhaust is hedman headers with true duals, no y pipe, a straight crossover with flowmaster mufflers, i believe 2 3/4 inch exhaust out the back..the cam is a roller.488 lift 218 duration..pretty much a 3500-5500rpm cam.....11.0-1 compression..the motor came from an 88 caprice state police vehicle that caught fire and was totalled....wanted it for the roller cam and one piece rear main seal, among lots of other things

Soon as this cold weather breaks I'll be starting the motor for my SS...Im working on a 375hp 350ci 4bolt main #3970010 cast block came out of a 1971 Camaro Z/28. I'm still debating on converting it to the 1pc rear main seal thou.

I have a Monte SS 1988 also with 14k original miles 100% stock (owned since new) their are very few 1988 models around ( they stopped production on the 88 models very early. I plan on painting mine soon. but Your 350 motor and exhaust are over the top! good luck with it ! what paint code did you use (single stage? or base coat/clear coat on the paint??and how do you keep it soooo clean :) Thanks for posting!!!....JimiH

base coat / clear coat......2 base coats (wet sanded after each coat) and 5 clear coats (wet sanded between 1st 2nd and 3rd coats).....gives it that deep look

loping actually......a big cam usually makes the idle kinda rough due to the intake and exhaust valves being open at the same time very briefly in the combustion cycle called "overlap" which reduces vacuum idle and kinda makes a ticking sound especially at idle and is alot noisier when you run headers on an engine with a large cam

I'd start with ignition and exhaust.......msd or any good ignition system, headers, and a good crossover exhaust with hi-flo mufflers.....all montes came with 3.73 rear gears, so those are fine, no need for a rear end upgrade....if your getting into the engine, def a good cam, dual plane intake and a nice 650-700cfm carb

@@jimihendrix225 i know that one my Monte gets comments horn honking as drive by me, most of all was my Nova SS lady driving one two lane road at me thought giving me the finger as drew closer was Thumb up then #1 over and over, had sate trooper do burnout to follow me in passing lane just stayed there, and far more Old cars had style, add paint that can blind in moonlight, and healthy cam makes for one hell of ride. Can I ask CID, my monte has 1973 454 (LS30 has plenty of torque, nothing to advertise what I got, stock hood only when I want to leave you far behind from mustang Gt ot Vette owners wonder what left them badly from dead stop or at the sped limit. not even close contest

@@livemusic8248 as far as cubic inch goes that is a stock block 1988 350 roller cam block that came out of a 1988 Caprice classic Michigan state police car that we bought back then from an insurance auction.. it had caught fire and they totalled it....same with 700R4 Trans out of that also which is the Corvette Caprice transmission... And I put pistons in and made it 11 to 1 compression aluminum heads dual-plane intake 850 double pumper dual feed Holley carb... It dynoed at 477 hp and 551 torque. .thanks for asking and if you ever have any questions just shoot away I don't mind .. By the way I'll be a little bit scared to go up against your 454 that's for sure

GUNS BBQ N BS I have a hard time hooking up off the line but my best e.t. is 12.23 @ 117mph....my buddy owns a motosports shop and we dyno'd it at 489RWP @5500rpm.. and that was before I changed the ignition curve to add more advance right at tip-in and along the timing curve and ran colder plugs..that alone was worth another 35HP and i also tweaked the mechanical secondaries for a quicker secondary tip in (pretty much all 4bbl all the time and it takes it) For small-block it really breathes nice right up to 5,800 rpm redline on the top end

I'm running a pretty hot .525intake/.525exhaust with 1.7 rockers and hedman headers with true duals /aluminzied with crossover and flowmasters...i think the cam duration is like 242 degrees or close to that

sorry to hear man......3.73 posi rear...msd ignition.....if you can afford alum. heads with 2.02 -1.94 valves..700cfm or higher mechanical carb.....roller cam if u have a roller block (can get more lift in the same duration)...headers with duals and crossovers...good size radiaitor with elec fan set up..(lotsa heat with big cam)..and one big thing...try to get at least 11.0- compression or higher (lotta power in compression...just run race fuel 100 octane if u can get it)
