Also, for those who didn't know this already, Kenny went on to win olympic gold this year.

Kenny Monday is certainly underrated!! I'm sure it has to do with what John Smith was doing back then. Kenny was a specimen!! Dude was incredible. Baseball players are judged on how many of the "5 tools" they have mastered. If that were the case in wrestling you'd have to invent another "tools" list because he had abilities that were much more difficult to assess!! Certainly John Smith, Bruce Baumgartner and Kenny Monday were the main 3 I looked up to coming up back in the day!!!

The man who would eventually murder Dave is sitting front row, 3rd person to the right of the steps in his Foxcatcher jacket. Biggest mistake USA wrestling ever made was letting John DuPont become involved with our sport.

Bo Gilmore can you point to a time in the video when he is most visible? I am trying to find him.
@bogilmore1524 жыл бұрын
@@52000rightwing ok, if you pause the video at 1:10 you should see 3 men between Dave and Kennys bodies. The man in the middle and the man to the right are both wearing the Blue and Yellow Foxcatcher jackets. The man on the right, the smaller older man, is John DuPont. Hope that helps

Wrestling actually got better, he was just a fucking psycho. He paid the athletes, and then they could focus on wrestling, and not have to work jobs to support their families. But you're correct, that's him with his hands together..

@@daytonasayswhat9333 are you crazy or stupid killing Dave set USA wrestling back he would still be our Olympic coach and was primed for gold for a 2x time in 96' he would of went on to coach usa wrestling and have many students to also win gold not just a few such as Kurt Angle for example 🙄

Schultz’s only hope, and a very slim one, was to weather the early match Kenny Monday storm, try to tire him out, and chip away with a point here and a point there to the end of the match.

Kenny Monday is at his Peak and Dave Schultz is either past it OR he's injured - he was a machine in 1984. This was Kenny's Time.
@kennymonday30443 жыл бұрын
Neither was the case. Dave had just got 2nd in world championships the year before 1987 and he had won Tbilisi in 1987, plus he pinned every opponent in 1987 US Open. And he definitely wasn’t injured. I was just the better wrestler
