Two great warriors! If you were not ready to fight hard and smart against Schultz, he could be devastating ! He was as hard nosed as they came. The people saying he was a dirty wrestler are wrong! Wrestling was his life, and he put all of his energies into it.

Several illegal moves in one match and he knew it. Kenny didnt let it upset him, just dealt with it, didn't give up a turn. The torque and stretch of the ankle several times and of course what is essentially a full nelson could turn most guys quickly but not Kenny Monday in 1988.Another good match is Dave against Rob Koll.

The full nelson is legal in freestyle, with two restrictions: you have to come out to the side, and there can be no leg hold on the opponent's body. The action was stopped, and no score was given, because Dave had a leg in.

It is interesting to see Dave and Kenny's interaction on the mat and between points. As Schultz gets behind he gets rougher and pushes limits. The bow and arrow stretching the ankle/covering the foot and a high/disguised full-nelsonto turn are two examples. I was watching the headlocks looking for carotid pressure but did not see that. Kenny is completely unfazed but any of it.
