Take a trip back in time with us. It's Halloween (October 31, 1988) and all the kids in Littleton Colorado are heading to Southglenn Mall to load up on candy and treats. You can even get a coupon for a free gold fish! Like our other Halloween Videos from the 80's, you can see what the kids are wearing for their halloween costumes in 1980's. Also get a quick glimpse of the popular 80's mall stores like Orange Julius, JC Penny's, Sears, Cozzoli's Pizzeria, Burger King, Taco Bell, Bakers, tons of shoe stores and the Mall Arcade. There's even an old Federal Express Truck at the end! Keep your eye out for some fun 80's treasures and let us know what you remember most about the Mall in the 1980s!

This looks so fun! I get my 80’ & 90’s happiness from watching everyone’s cool vids! Even though I was born in 81 I never had a normal childhood so I didn’t get to enjoy any of this but Thanks for sharing your amazing childhood experiences with us❤

Thanks for this, this is great. I was 12 in '88. I'm also watching my own VHS footage of Halloween '88 today.

Nice to see this se some of my favorite spots and I recognize a few of the teenagers there even though I left in 1984 , I think I saw my old babysitter and some swim team older kids . That was such an awesome mall to spend my first 14 years of life there. Does look upgraded from 1984

Looks like I was Dracula Again! My Little brothers costume was an old vinyl Masters of the Universe Hordak costume with a Skeletor Mask.

We were the last kids to get the plastic costumes and I loved them. I was She-Ra one year. :)

I feel so bad my child (now a teenager) & children younger will never know the joy of Halloween at the mall. I tried explaining it to him a few days ago & he looked at me like I was from the Flipside (though he has no idea what Kidd Video is either). I say this a lot, but I truly am thankful to have grown up during that decade. Maybe earlier or later ones were more fun to be a kid, but for me it was the best. Thank you for posting this, so great to see something so... similar to the memories I have unfortunately don't have photos or videos...our family took very few photos & I haven't been able to find even them. Would love to show my son our crazy costumes back then. I'm several decades past being a 12 year old girl but screamed like it when I saw the Hordak costume...still love him & everything He-Man/She-Ra. Hoping a picture of my She-Ra costume will show up someday! Thanks for the happiest of memories!!!

I worked at Southglenn Mall from 1985-1988, as a janitor. High school student during the day, Super Janitor at night! I recognize some of the workers handing out candy. I sure miss those days now!

That is so cool you were working there! I spent a lot of time in that mall during the 80’s and 90’s. I have more footage of Southglenn mall that I’ll upload soon. I just wish I had more footage of the arcade there! It’s all very different now!

OH You are such a gift to be posting these! My sister was on the soccer team for "Coach Burnett" 😂. If I'd known what would happen 40 years later I'd have worked on Halloween!

Back when malls were the place to be. Nowadays these places are struggling to get customers to just walk around. Virtual Halloween someday with candy from a 3D printer soon.

It’s true, most malls today are even scary to walk around. There’s a few good ones left but not many!

Hahaha, I was trying to figure out what costume that was at 11:51. It was one of my favorites in this video and I almost used it for the thumbnail pic.

My parents got a camcorder when they first came out. I didn't realize this was a luxury item for the time. My dad said he spent 1,000 on it and saved for a year.

It’s true, video cameras were very expensive back then. There are a lot of families who don’t have any home movies from back then b/c they couldn’t afford a camera or VCR. When VCR’s first came out, they were over $1000 as well. That’s around $2500 in today’s money. I’m sure it was a sacrifice but I believe you’re dad made a good choice in getting one.

The Halloween 4: Return of Michael Myers jumped out with this one! Anyone else had those plastic masks that were hard to breathe in, cut into your face, and smelled like it was potentially toxic? 🙋🏿‍♂️ No? Just me? Okay, bye
@videodotti
@videodotti 2 жыл бұрын
Haha! I remember those masks all to well! We were lucky if the mask made it through the night in one piece. I usually ended up wearing it on top of my head after a while! I still have one of them in our Halloween stuff from the early eighties!

Those elastics were terrible. They easily broke if you were not careful.
