Nice looking bike. I was lucky enough last year to buy the 800cc version of that bike .It is quite rare because it is a 1990 model so as twin tanks and rear disc brake but is 800cc. they were only made for a year then was replaced by the newer version. My bike was also uk registered from new ,one owner,16.500miles so a bit of a unicorn.Had to pay well for it but it is a great bike. It is in quite good condition for a 33year old bike that as not been restored.

Lovely bike. Looks in great condition. I have an SR42A (1990 DR800) that I'm currently putting back together after having all the rust blasted from the frame and having it all powder coated. I thought mine was the only one left with the original exhaust.

Glad you're giving it the love it deserves. I love these bikes, this one rode so nicely .. and yeah you never see them with the stock exhausts! Not sure why they sound great.

Hi edward, lovely ride! i have one question, with your current gearing (stock or changed) how does she go in the highways at the speed limit? (i live in Spain where we go 120kph) Thank you very much, cheers
@edwards0matic3 жыл бұрын
Thanks man, the gearing is stock (I forget the sprocket sizes off the top of my head) and I'd say 120kph is the absolute max speed you'd want to cruise at .. cruising any faster and the bike wouldn't be comfortable. Vibration wise the faster you go the less vibration there is so as a rider you'd be fine at 120kph I think.

@@edwards0matic i'm not planning to cruise at that speed, but is good to know if i can or not, thank you mate!

They are a very reliable bike, but make sure that the battery is good and fully charged, front forks are soft so I would up grade spring and new oil, front brakes are poor so fit braided pipes good disc and pads, check balance chain tension. I had metzeler tourance tyres which work well on it. Basically it a great bulletproof bike enjoy.
@edwards0matic Жыл бұрын
@@davesears5264 They are reliable to a point .. the early 750's had a pretty big weakness in that when you turned the bike off, if the piston was on the compression stroke it would actually spin the engine backwards if I'm not mistaken and mangle everything on the left side of the engine (starter / starter gears / starter clutch etc) .. You don't see many of them still about for this reason.
