Great video. I have a 89 C4 Charcoal metallic with 32000 miles. Florida car and I'm the 3rd owner. Love these cars. Extremely undervalued.

I watched your Vette vids yesterday and really enjoyed how thorough and meticulous you are! Great work! It’s nice to see a fellow Corvette owner with such attention to detail. I’d love to see a video about replacing valve stem seals with the head on the car. It might clear up the blue smoke on startup👍🏻

Looking good friend. I had a 1992 white Vette. Loved it. I would suggest you put some brake oil on your tires if you want them to shine. Peace

Hey man. Nice ride. Try scrubbing the suspensions parts with stainless steel steel wool. Brings them out nice. From the blue PUFFs out the exhust, Looks like you may have some dead valve stem oil seals. Easy job, just time consuming. Perfect winter project. Have you looked into replacing all other fluids and oils? Looking FWD to next vid.

Great point as I was thinking the exact same thing. Although my former '91 - L98 had around 70K miles when I sold it last year, it needed those same valve stem seals replaced(not that the engine burned oil, but on start up, a small puff of smoke could be seen from the exhaust pipes).

Why is it that no tire shop in the world can figure out how to mount C4 wheels/tires? They're marked clearly on the inside. They sure get bent when they have to redo the job. LOL. BTW, my '96 has bigger rears so they cannot be rotated. I keep them properly inflated and aligned so rotation is not an issue. If your fronts and rears are the same size, someone switched wheels for you.

In 1989, all four were the same width. IIRC, they are 9.5" wide.

had the same thing happen also when getting the oil changed make sure they don't try to put 5.7 liters of oil as it only takes 4.7 liters.

The fuel filter was a major pia on my 95....
@ReynoldsRides3 жыл бұрын
Interesting. I’ve changed it on both my ‘89 and ‘94 and it was pretty easy. Maybe ‘95s are a little different.

Left side wheels can not be put on right side , only front rear change is possible , yes , brake disk cooling, you need to change left side wheels with right side :)

How did you change the feul filter? Did you let the engine run with fuel pump off until it died? I read that otherwise there is big pressure on the lines and a big mess. Thanks!
@ReynoldsRides4 жыл бұрын
There’s a few ways. If the car has been sitting for a day or so, there shouldn’t be any pressure in the system. There’s also a schrader valve on the fuel rail and if you push down on the little core inside, it will relieve the fuel pressure. You can also remove the fuel pump fuse and try to start the car a few times.

Got my '91 last spring and put 12,000 miles on her this summer. I live in Michigan and there are many dry winter road days. Why should I park it? That tunnel is warm all the time and the throttle even has it's own heater. So how did that intake divider turn out? Still think it gives you a boost in either mileage or performance?

In Utah, there is a lot of salt on the ground in the winter so I don’t want to get it all over the undercarriage. Also, I prefer to wash my car by hand and can’t really do that in the winter because it’s so cold outside. I really like the air foil I installed. In my opinion it helps smooth the idle, increase power, and increase throttle response.
@Meinstein4 жыл бұрын
I see your point. I don't keep my exterior pristine. Would rather drive it dirty than look at it clean. Living here, salt has caused my cars rust out while they could still tear the road the roads up because I had nothing else to drive in the winter. Since even the floorboards and springs are plastic on this car, I don't expect it to rust much except for under the hood. I plan to drive it on dry days and wash the salt dust off at the car wash. See you in the spring.

Bad Axident The fuel and brake lines will rust...those are a real pain to replace...
@Meinstein4 жыл бұрын
@@MrZdvy It is now January and they have yet to put any salt on the roads. Even as a daily driver (which this is not) winter-driven cars go a long time before brake and fuel lines rust. I'll chance it. Thanks for the advice though.

Snow/slush/road salt is a good reason to put a Vette away and not drive it. But cold temperatures is a bad reason to not drive a Vette.
