This was before my time. I was only 4 in '89. But I remember a lot of these guys from the NBA. It's cool seeing them as high school players

St Anthony HS 1989 the greatest High School Team in the History of High School Basketball. I was a tad younger than these guys I know most of them my uncle went to St Anthony during this time and played on Baseball team with Willie Banks. I grew up in Jersey City and it's a shame that School is no longer functioning. A tragedy that happened

Nah 1988 Tolentine HS. I went to the elementary school at the time. 3 McDonald's all Americans...Malik sealy (RiP), Brian Reese and Adrian "Red" Autry! National Champions that year

@@rodneyayew6858 1987 , 1988 St Anthony went like 34-1 34-1 both those yrs and finished #2 in nation both times with a ridiculous National Schedule. Both those losses came to Ferris HS. In Jersey City! A Public HS Jersey City also had 5 public HS . But both losses came from that school, with a player named Daryl Boston. Who probably was so good Hurley would have paid his tuition. But he decided to go to Jersey City Publics and play.

@Invisible Bully 2 problem is money talks. A rare problem here was the Elites that want that property for views of Manhattan "Out Elite" even the famous alumni and friends of St Anthony. People with money that make them look poor... If you want to know the truth

if Lawrence would have still been with I.U. in 92, they would have won the title, we needed him for the block shots, of course he had offense, that was the championship that got away and go figure the Bucks made it to the sweet sixteen the same year with Lawrence on the team, it speaks volumes about how great he was, we felt the loss of Lawrence in Indiana when he left.................... F.Y.I. the Bucks would not have made it that far in the 92 season without Lawrence, thats my opinion and no disrespect to the other players

BOB HURLEY JR.GREAT HS CAREER CHAMPIONSHIPS. AT DUKE CHAMPIONSHIPS. HE WAS DRAFTED TO THE KINGS. VERY SUCCESSFUL AS A COACH .WE WERE ALWAYS PROUD OF HIM. MY NJ STATE ACKNOWLEDGMENTS WAS BECAUSE OF GOING TO HIS FATHERS BASKETBALL CAMPS IN THE OFF SEASONS .HE ALWAYS HAD THE TOP COACHES TO TEACH AND MAKE US ALL BETTER. I TELL ALL OF THE YOUNGER FELLAS THAT ARE SERIOUS ABOUT COLLEGE BALL .GO TO ARIZONA ST OR U CONN. THEY WILL GET A GREAT DEGREE AND BE GROOMED FOR THE NBA LEAGUE.

Bobby met my young nephew during his rehab from the accident that ended his NBA career and told him to always wear a seat belt and make sure everybody else in the vehicle does too. My nephew still takes that advice to heart.

Bobby Hurley could've really been a nice player in the NBA if not for the car accident. Probably would've never been a star but he could've had a long, productive career. He was kind of like Steve Nash, just an excellent all-around athlete with vision, balance and quickness if not great speed and strength.
