I understand. Still waiting for some footage of the new bike when you get a chance. Two strokes make the world go round!

Soon. Building my 1972 Chevy truck, just got cab back from paint plus a few other things I have going on. Not much time to sit down and edit the videos

Looking for a clip of your bike. If it's better than this one, I don't know if I could stand to watch it.

Really nice! I watched the video you made about the build, and it inspired me to maybe restore my own pilot that i have. i was just wondering how long it took you to get to the finished product. i am pretty intimidated as it looks like a ton of work especially for someone that doesn't know too much about rebuilding quads, and go karts. keep posting more videos!

I got it around september 2011 and had it running by about mid 2012. It took me another 3-4 months to figure out why it would not idle or start worth a damn, kept chasing an air leak in the seadoo carbs. Id say go for the restore, they are great machines and fairly straight forward. the guys over at www.pilotodyssey.com/PO/index.php are more than willing to help guys out with any trouble they may have!

sounds like it's laying over on the top end after it gets up on the pipe. sounds to me you need to step your main jet s up a bit it will run cooler too. an put about two or 3 more ounces on the primary clutch weights it will make that a lot more drivable good for the woods that way it's not screaming

Steering stabilizer?
@nitrosport5
@nitrosport5 6 жыл бұрын
This machine didnt have one. The front suspension was an aftermarket +2 kit that had serious bump steer issues.

Once you get your new bike finished, are you interested in selling this one?
@nitrosport5
@nitrosport5 9 жыл бұрын
Probably not. Way too much time and money invested that I will keep it. I plan to upgrade this one and bring it up to par with the other. The other one is almost too wide for trail riding, so I want to keep this one for trails and the other one for dunes

you need some kind of steering dampner

Okay cool so I guess we're both in the same boat I used to have the Odyssey and then I bought the Honda Pilot and then I had a RZR 800s then I needed some money so I sold my 800 RZR and so here I am trying to build this for myself since it's hard to come up for the money to get an XP 900 or a 1000 and I wanted more travel than the RZR 800 so here I am building this buggy which this is my first time ever welding as well I hope it doesn't fall apart on Me on the first ride LOL and it's got some good travel 13 in the front 14 in the rear

cool well thanks for the info I appreciate it don't quite like what you said but oh well LOL I think my baby weighs like 800 pounds and I only weigh a hundred and thirty so I guess we'll have to see how long it last night?

that's about all you can do. try and refrain from running the engine too long while in neutral. the needle bearings in the trans are weak already and then with no oil while spinning in neutral it is very hard on them. I ran 80hp fairly reliably through an fl350 trans. if you don't drive like an idiot and land on Throttle ect you will likely be okay. are you using the fl350 axles as well?
@joseflores-sx4qw
@joseflores-sx4qw 8 жыл бұрын
Yes I am using the axles but I cut them and extended them and use chromoly tubing to do so

+jose flores it's not the shafts you need to worry about, the ujoints are weak. if you aren't using them as a suspension link like the odyssey did it will help alot. if they ever need replacing don't use the greasable ujoint. they are hollow and will break quick. haha sorry to bombard you with little information lol
@joseflores-sx4qw

LOL nah dude it's cool thanks what I did is I copied the XP 900 link system so I made mine into a 4 Link the transmission that you're talking about does it have reverse because I'm on crutches and I have to have reverse and by the way this is my first time ever building something like this
@nitrosport5
@nitrosport5 8 жыл бұрын
+jose flores yes they do but they are very expensive. talking around $2000 for new and don't come up used often. I'm in the same boat, I'm in a chair and that's why I fell in love with the pilots and odysseys. all hand controls from the fsctory

I guess I could use a Honda Pilot transmission I've seen those sell for about 800 to $1,000
@nitrosport5
@nitrosport5 8 жыл бұрын
yes that is another option, BUT on top of the transmission you will need to find axles, and you will cry at the price of those IF you can find them. if you are going to spend that much money you may as well get an RPM that is new and guaranteed to hold whatever power you can throw at it!
