1989 Hot Wheels - PART 2 - Complete Collection

Part Two of a three-part review of every car and truck released by Mattel Hot Wheels in the year 1989. This is a three part video series for 1989 because there are so many different cars and sets released for this year that I needed to break up the video to keep it to a reasonable length. This second video focuses on the basic release single-pack cars that make up the most collected cars of 1989. Stay tuned for Part 3 for the highly sought after and limited production multi-pack cars, mail-away, promotional, and cereal box give-away cars to be reviewed and discussed!

Excellent video as always. The Classic Caddy, '37 Bugatti, Chevy Stocker, Camaro Z28, Baja Breaker, Firebird Funny Car, Mercedes 300SEL, HotBird, Nissan 300ZX and Ford Thunderburner are my personal favorites from this year. The larger trucks and various other models are interesting as well. And it's always nice to hear about variations of these wich you may never heard of. Thanks for showing all these in detail wtffor!

Awesome vid. I have a few of these myself. Did not know about the variations of the Firebird Funny Car. i am quite certain there are 4 variations of the Peugeot 205 Rallye Car. Two variations in the year 1989 and two variations in the year 1996. I have three of them but I have seen the fourth on Hot Wheels Wiki. Thanks for sharing. ;-)

Thank you! I do have many tampo variations of the Firebird Funny Car, which are from previous years if I remember correctly. You are correct about the Peugot Rallye, although in my collection I have the "international release" #3 car in my 1990 assortment... could be wrong there but so hard to tell for certain with the 1989 and 1990 cars which one came when, for many of the releases. In 1996 there are two variations, both with the same body color but painted and unpainted bases.

I have 3 black vettes which are all different and silver Corvette and one all red one. One of the black vettes has a black suit case. I have a orange , green and black Ford van also a white Baja bresker

Hey brother, I found a fire chaser or fire chief stamped with a malaysia base, where the fire chief logo is arched and has a white number 1 inside a small yellow circle. Is this a rare variation. I cant find one in your year by year segments or on ebay.

Correct me if I’m wrong but I’m pretty sure I have a 89 Pepsi truck with the large logo variation . I remember when searching there were two small and large and I bought large as it supposedly was “rare” I haven’t done a ton research but could you be wrong here or am I? Thanks love the content as a fairly new collector
