Haney was other worldly during his entire reign. I never thought anything could be more unbelievable. Then Haney showed up peaked to the max in his best ever condition in 1991.. his last Olympia. Just one of the best shapes & overall packages of all time. Haney is one for the ages. Sadly the younger generation just don't know....

I think Mike Christian is one guy who never reached his full potential.. I'd rather have Mike's physique than Haney's.. Haney may be able to beat Christian on he stage but if both men were walking down a city street together with jeans and a tank top more eyes would be drawn to Mike Christian with his Height and natural frame structure.. He would look more more imposing than Haney in that type of scene..

I've been working out since 86, and I actually owned the VHS tape of this contest (I have no idea where it's at now LOL). Haney deserved the win: best overall package of mass, condition, balance, structure, and presentation. I agree with Labrada in 2nd and Vince in 3rd. I had Christian in 4th though (best he's ever looked in my opinion, but he always had weaker legs and chest, and a shallow ribcage), and Richie in 7th (too many flaws structurally and the beginning of his pec tear). I had Samir battling Momo for 5th and 6th; Samir looked great that year. Buchanan at first glance is impressive, but his legs were extremely weak. Mike Quinn seemed disappointed with his placing but I actually had him one placing lower in 8th rather than 7th. It was tough for him though, being that he placed 6th the year before. Great show; thanks for the upload!!

Such a great tune in bodybuilding. Look at the fan interaction, attendance. These were physiques that ppl wanted to look like …. Athletic, yet still muscular with good size . There was almost an innocence in how ppl saw bodybuilding then. It seems the sport has gone backwards cause of these gurus like Palumbo, milos , Nichols … they turned it onto GH , insulin giant belly’s and big waists . Big was not always better and even the quality of ppl in the sport seemed better , Family ppl it seemed . It’s to bad the freak era destroyed this time .
