Last time I spoke with Mr Smith he had just turned seventy, a gentleman to say the least . I never studied under him as I was Ryu Shin Kan Kanetsuka , however it was good to converse with him and learn of his success and happiness .

1989 was 10 years before I had the pleasure of training under Mr Smith's instruction.

I was there accompanying Chiba sensei. I'd seen Mr Smith a few times while still living in England. Unfortunately, I never got to see or train with him again after this video was recorded.
