Me too...each year a new movie came out, it resurfaced a bit, but the only year that came close and maybe surpassed it was in 2008.

I was only 4 in '89 so i was a little too young. But we did get the vhs a year later and I watched it quite often. So by the time Returns came out in '92 I had become a huge fan, and was old enough to appreciate seeing Batman on the big screen. I'll never forget my dad taking me on opening weekend. It was a real thrill.

@@Danbo22987 Why can’t you agree? The hype for Endgame was not on the level of this movie. Did you see ever see people walking around with the Avengers logo shaved into their head? Because that’s what happened with this, and the Bat-logo became a fashion statement at the time. There hasn’t been anything like it in recent years.

I wasn't around for Star Wars mania in 1977 but I was around for THIS. I didn't care about movies much before that day in June 1989. But seeing Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (because Batman was sold out) and then seeing Batman on the same day as an 8 year old....changed me. Been devouring films voraciously ever since. Honestly....I think they're both about equal quality wise. Last Crusade and Batman I mean. That's a hell of a one two punch for a little kid..

Those were great times! Batman + Batman Returns are the best! Trouble with Indy though is that its blatant propaganda, but I still enjoy the Young Indy tv show. check out the documentary ,tgsnt, and you'll see what I mean by it being propaganda.

They would have been underwhelmed. Ledger's death sold TDK's tickets, don't let that nostalgia cloud your head. However, Jack Nicholson's superior performance, and Batman 89 in general, felt more natural as a Batman movie. So it stands the test of time, and is way more fun to watch. The only Batman movie that surpasses it, is Batman Returns.
